I saw that on another website earlier, don't know what to make of it really...if it's true then those people should be strung up by the bollox  That accusation 16 years ago is what ruined MJ's career, started his money problems, started his addictions to painkillers and basically started him on the downward spiral that led to his death imo. Only total SCUM would make up something like that.
And does he think it will absolve him if he admits it was all lies now?!

I don't think we should discuss it. (I'm not saying you shouldn't lol, I just mean in this thread). Cos if he was lying, then discussing it in MJs thread just shows how it's still haunting his memory. And if he wasn't lying, we're speaking with vitriol about an abused boy.

I think it came from a wordpress website (so like a blogging website), where someone wrote it in a journalistic style but with no sources. From then it just spread (the same exact wording).

Me too. If my child had been abused by ANYONE, but especially someone as high profile as MJ who surrounded himself with kids all the time, I wouldn't take any amount of money, I would want them dragged to hell and back through the courts, and it all made public, not take a backhander and slink away. I just never believed a word of it anyway...either in 1993 or 2005.
Edit. Sorry Lauren, I agree we shouldn't bring that up here in this thread, I just feel so strongly about it and just always believed Michael. I take your point though.

Eeek, sorry. Yes, you're right, this is a completley different subject and I don't really want to get into the whole 'peadophile' situation now tbh because it'll just cause arguments about whether it's true or not.

I've no opinion either way, but I don't want to be vindictive to either side.
If the allegations were true: We shouldn't speak bad or with vitriol about an abused young boy. Perhaps it was his fathers overbearing influence that decided to take the money rather than take it to court, not the boys fault.
If the allegation is false: I wouldn't want to tar MJ's lasting memory with the haunting episode.

ask yourself this if you were accused, you would have nothing to hide so there would be no evidence, so why would you settle out of court for 18 read it 18 million dollers.
surley if he didnt do anything and there was no evidance he would have just proved his innocence.
i think he must have had something to hide

Wish people would stop spreading fake MJ stories, they know who they are.
(The story I am referring to is that "Evan Chandler" came out saying he was never touched by MJ and had lied.
1. Evan is the father. It's Jordan the kid. So that's wrong.
2. The story is false. It's just a fake blog entry, it's slanderous and wrong.
3. By telling people about it, you're tarnishing the image of someone who may well have been abused).
But most of all, by posting this fake story you're tarnishing the memory of MICHAEL. He won't want to be remembered for that story, and he especially won't want fake stories resurrecting the memory of it.
I'm not talking about people who don't know it's fake, but I've seen another member on here telling people it's real, when they've been shown that its fake.
Anyway, I felt I needed to post that because its really making this whole thing bitter.

Show Goes On: Beyonce Leads Jackson Tributes
It's one of the biggest nights in the calendar for America's black stars - and tonight's running order has been ripped up and recreated after the sudden death of Michael Jackson.
Performers at the Black Entertainment TV Awards, including Beyonce, Wyclef Jean, and Ne-Yo, together with host Jamie Foxx, are all working in special tributes to the singing legend.
The live broadcast from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium has been extended by half an hour to include last-minute unannounced guests who want to appear and pay their own respects to Jackson.
Singer Beyonce Knowles performed on Friday night in Philadelphia and visibly fought back tears before singing Jackson's song I Can't Help It.
"This is going to be hard for me... My hero passed away... I'm very grateful for the memories that I've had watching and listening to the genius Michael Jackson," she said.
One of the producers of tonight's BET awards, which honour African-American achievements in music, film and sports, admitted the show was having to undergo a "total overhaul".
"It has been planned and rehearsed for the last six months. So to change it all in less than three days is not easy, but they are all willing and looking forward to it," said Stephen Hill.
"There is a direct line from Beyonce to Michael Jackson, from Ne-Yo to Michael Jackson, from Jay-Z to Michael Jackson. They will want to pay tribute," he added.
Sean 'P Diddy' Combs and Vanessa Williams are expected to be among the guests at the venue, which has previously hosted the Oscars and the Grammy Awards.
Performers and audience members at this weekend's Glastonbury Festival also paid tribute to Jackson's contribution to the world of music.

To be fair, I'm sure Siavash would rather hear about the current climate in Iran over a celebrity dying, since it directly affects him. Similarly, other news would be deemed more important for other HMs too - we can't put a value on news. Considering this, it's a very subjective decision if they were to tell them about MJ, but not Iran. And therefore where are they expected to draw the line about which news to tell them?
They're going to find out eventually, few weeks at most .

Following what Lauren said, which is right, there is also important news that people want to know - maybe over MJ dying. It's not exactly going to affect their lives, but something in Iran or something would affect Siavash's, for example...

I'm not "tarnishing his name" as you say.
I just think that beyond the initial shock and upset, it won't directly impact their lives, whereas the upheaval in Iran WILL, and I'm sure with a choice, Siavash would rather hear about that. With that subjectivity arising, I can see BB made the right choice.
They knew by going in the BB house, they'd have a media blackout. They accepted that, so whether they're angry for not being told or not?... They signed up for it.

^ I do understand your point, but if they're going to tell them SOME news, then it could be argued why they're not telling them other stuff that may bear relevance to them. They signed up to the show knowing they won't be told of big news, so I guess they'll have to wait til they're out before they hear it.

I dunno, and don't really care. They aren't 'entitled' to finding out, they weren't even told about the July bombings in LDN, which could have directly affected them, so no way should they be told that MJ is dead.
