They could do a Jackson task as a tribute to him.

Already a thread on this subject dude, look around:thumbs:
Of course they should! They should be aware of his death, and Farrah's, they were both legends.
He was a true superstar and his songs will be played for hundreds of years. He's one of the greatest artists of our generation and he'll never be forgotten, despite everything bad that happened in his life. So yes, I imagine a lot of the housemates idolise and love him, so I think they should be told.

Aw that would be a good tribute. I hope they do something relating to MJ's death.

Does it really matter how many threads there is; Michael Jackson has just died.

Yes if they are the same. That freak meant nothing to me and others on here. Let his family grieve him as it should be. I wont respond again as i'm just bumping an old thread.

They shouldn't. During BB6 the housemates weren't even informed of 7/7. As sad as Michael Jackson's death is, telling the housemates would be a violation of the first principle of the show: no news of the outside world.

BB is all about being separated from the rest of the world. There is no reason to tell them about any deaths unless of course it be family or a natural disaster that kills multitudes of people or something that triggers off WW3.

Most of them won't even know who Farrah was.

Exactly. During BB2 US they told the housemates about 9/11, the only time that I've ever found outside knowledge acceptable.
Simone.

In BB3 they watched the football, whatever cup that was & in BB8 they were told about Rhianna's number one for 10 weeks.
I really think they should be told.

Of course Not.
You can not give the bits of the Outside World News.
No way would they tell them.
Thats what is good about BB
it is removed from all the Current News
we can escape.

They told them and made them watch the World Cup in 2002, in the USBB they told them about 9/11 (but that was because a HMs cousin was missing), tbh i think they should tell them, anyways they will probably be a message on a plane today or something.
Not sure if they told the HM sin BB4 about 7/7 bombings, dont think so.

Big Brother has a strong relationship with the Jacksons. I think BB should tell them and have a Jackson party in remembrance.

Yes, Latoya & Jermaine were both housemates in CBB.
I think they should have the shopping task as something Micheal Jackson, I think they will.

Well like the whole point of the show is that they have no contact with the outside world for three months...
MJ died... No big deal, famous people die all the time! I would be shocked if they told them!

They could have a Jackson-themed party and put on the screen "Michael Jackson 1958 to 2009" or something :)

it aint like this guy is a religious leader. yes his death is sad, but it won't make a difference to their lives. there is a war in iran and we are more worried about some man dying? yes he was the best performer of all time, but for heavens sake it is not the most important story in the world

Hmm I don't really agree with them getting a lot of news but a party in memory of MJ would be good... like LaToya and Germaine were both in BB and the had the thriller task and everything... the Jackson's have had a big role in BB.

The media will no doubt make us believe his death is more important than it actually is. I think BB will tell the HM's

What would the task involve, moonwalking, having plastic surgery, dangling a baby over a balcony?

When heatworld first arrived at the Towers this morning, rumours were spreading that tonight's Big Brother eviction may even be cancelled in the wake of Michael Jackson's death. However, we've now be told that the eviction will indeed be going ahead as planned, and that "as it stands" the housemates "will not be told about Michael Jackson's death". As our BB source points out, "They may be the only people in the world who won't know the news." We're secretly hoping BB sets a special Jacko-related task next week in tribute. Do you think the housemates should be told the news, or is it better to let them find out as and when they leave?
