Elena is a rough phonetic approximation to her name. Her original name was spelled in the cyrillic alphabet and a better approximation to how it would be pronounced in Russian is Yelena.

Going from fading memory I think that is right and it is 'Elena' but she married an Englishman named Hobbs. Since she was name-changing anyways.. he anglisised it to 'Helen'. Its really more just spelling.
Someone mentioned 'Sadko' as a stage name and thats just like 'Sting' or something,
and,
I really feel sorry for her because she looks 'sadko' alright. Over a life-long identity crisis which is no closer to being resolved after Big Brother.
