why do they have 2 sitting rooms in the BB house this year?

They dont have two sitting rooms. A couple of makeshift seats in the main room is not a sitting room. If you want to put it that way, they have ALWAYS had a sitting room with seats around on the outside, only this time the sitting room is in it's own room.
