They would have to bring in extra money somehow. Lots of places like that rent themselves out for weddings or corporate events. The upkeep on a place like that is VERY expensive.

/shrug when has 'need' been a criteria for winning BB? You think Lisa is any more worthy? Or Sophie?

At least Freddie will probably use it in a positive way, not just on fags and botox.

You are making a lot of assumptions, I believe. After all, we don't know how much money his family has... only that they live in a very expensive home. AND... we don't know how his father feels about just giving his son money. I know a family that is VERY rich. And I mean VERY. And yet they make their children get jobs to earn their own money. Now, granted, when the parents kick off, they will probably inherit, but that will likely be a very long time.

And like someone else said on a different thread, to me Freddie seems like the one most likely to spend the money on something worthwhile.

Oh... and one other thing that I forgot to mention. Freddie himself has spoken of doing face painting etc when he has been short on money in order to buy drinks. That doesn't sound like someone with a treasure room to me.

No one said he was destitute either. But you can't make assumptions based on someone's parents. You really have no idea what the situation is in someone else's family.

Plus, as it has been said before, "need" is not a prerequisite for winning. If it was, the house would be full of Lisas that have been on the dole since the day they were born.

I can make assumptions if i want to with all respect. and if not then no-one else can either. Let's not assume, for example, that Freddie's family are skint and he will give the money to a worthy cause. Like the Conservative party for example.

Yes, you can do anything you want... though by wording it like that you might make yourself sound like a 13 year old.

I never said that anyone couldn't make assumptions. I said that you shouldn't make assumptions about someone BASED ON THEIR PARENTS. I also never said that his family was poor. Clearly they are not poor. So if you feel the need to make smart comments back to me, please read what I said first.

SocietyIsRuined
04-07-2009, 08:12 PM
It's only £100,000

They should've made it interesting and made that prize money $1m, then we would have a show.

Face it. Family gets their dabs on some of it and that's around half of it gone. You have £50,000 left and give around £5,000 to various friends. Then you go on a marvellous holiday paying for a couple of people (including booze) and you're down to £35,000. You basically get to pay some of your mortgage off and go on a holiday, that's the prize.

I'll go ahead and bet my bottom dollar that the majority of the housemates will spend any amount of money won on hair extensions, breast implants, nips & tucks, botox and needless expensive clothing.

People need to think accordingly, and consider the HM that outwits, outplays, outlasts, withstands and endures the brutality of all the wicked players this particular game has showcased. So far, it seems that Freddie is playing with these given standards, and at this point he definitely deserves to be crowned winner because he has thus far played the best game. However, the season is yet young and much can happen to change things, even though it is highly unlikely that there will be much change.:wavey:

Why do you all presume just cause his family has money that HE has money. I know quite a few people who have wealthy parents and they have to fend for themselves i know i have to. My parents could quite easily support me and i wouldn't need to work but they don't and also i wouldn't want them to.
Freddie is very independent and has talked of times when he's been skint which shows his parents don't throw cash at him so we definately should lol

Skint is when you have to steal potatoes to survive.
There's no-one you can run to when you find yourself going to bed starving.

I  Freddie and he'd be a great winner, but looking at that beast makes me think Marcus might need it a little more. The HMs will probably get Marcus evicted this week anyway so I guess I shouldn't worry. If it's a clique member getting 100k vs. Freddie with 80 rooms getting 100K, I'd still vote for Freddie.
