iTunes - Unsigned

Dont you think it would be good if itunes allowed anyone to upload thier own music onto an extension of itunes called 'unsigned' or something. It could help the music industry sign up popular music, and let us hear uncoventional or low key music. It could also help new struggling artists to get thier names out there and make abit of cash to get them started.
What do you think. Good idea, bad idea?

yeah it would be good. but Google would pick it up before Apple.

It's only a matter of time before they come up with something that will change the way music is given over the net.

just like they are with email and IM with Google Wave. < which is soo coool!

It's a good idea but we kinda have myspace for that, that's how I discovered most of my unsigned/lesser known artists.

It's a good idea, but as Darenn said there are a few other sources for artists to get themselves out there such as MySpace, Last.FM, ect.
