Actually, I think jtalh may have hit upon something there.

Emulate your enemy in order to ingratiate and / or confuse your enemy's supporters.

You forget that Charlie, Kris and Sophie are not the brightest pennies in the piggy bank. Carly I'm not so sure about, she seems a little cleverer than the rest of the gang. I think she's Lisa's lieutenant for a reason.
