Yes, and to lay a little ground work with Freddie for a future time when she might need to use him for her own evil ends.

That witch needs to be put in her place...I get sick of hearing her loud shouty voice in nearly every shot of the HL shows. If she isn't directly on screen you can still hear her yawping and yelping away somewhere out of shot, thinking that everyone is hanging on her every word.
