When Freddie came down from Oxford a family contact got him a job as a ballet dancer with the Bolshoi. Unfortunately Freddie proved useless as a dancer but the company were so impressed by his knowledge that they got rid of him by entering him in the Russian version of Mastermind.
Freddie went right through to the final by answering every question correctly but he came only second because he could not answer a question about the TV show Big Brother.
Utterly disappointed Freddie returned to England determined to discover everything he could about Big Brother by entering the auditions.
