It's finally happened. Celebrity Love Island is now getting more viewers than Big Brother. Faced with the choice of watching idiots arguing on a beach or watching idiots arguing in a house, the British public have decided that a sunny beach wins. So now you can start betting on it again.

There are many reasons for the audience surge; it's due to a mixture of Celebrity Love Island following Coronation Street, the addition of a new contestant, and the borderline-disturbing antics of Paul Danan, the most unsettling person seen on TV since that weird Stalking Pete Doherty man stopped miming songs intensely into a camera and crying.

I've got to admit,I do like Love Island. They are a good mixture of celebrities (if thats what you want to call them!) but I can't see how its beating Big Bro in ratings:conf:
I think really they are putting Big Brother on too late, I think it should be 9, even though it has always been 10.:spin2:

I have to admit, I do watch CLI and tape BB, but do keep switching between them both!

If you actually look at the ratings, BB6 is keeping, pretty much, to the same level of viewers as BB5. Indeed, it is worth noting that this Sunday's edition of the BB Psychology show received more viewers than most Sunday episodes to date.

Furthermore, CLI isn't, really, 'stealing' any BB viewers, it seems to appeal to a notably different demographic.

I wont deny Celebrity love island has been pretty popular, im the only one into BB in my house everyone else wont start watching BB until Love Island finishes, personally i cant understand whats intereting about CLI.

My family is totally BB6 and nowt else they would rather slit themselves than watch Z- celebs on a beach getting laid
