I am quite confused.

I had been so grateful Marcus was Freddie's friend when he had hard times earlier weeks.

Why Marcus nominated Freddie?

Some time last week Marcus was asked by somebody who does he think going on Friday. He answered Kris or Halfwit.
Does he think Freddie will be leaving house before hismself?

Still he is a frend of Freddie.
