this series ratings have been pitiful. next years will be the last.... and I will be in it :O

I expect it will be the last series of Big Brother, but I also think it wil be back in about 5-10 years after. It needs a break really.

Why do people obsess with Big Brother going off air!! It's a tv programme!! watch it or don't, it's as simple as! I don't watch Corination street but I would never have a convo with somebody about how it needs a break or should end! crazy. lol

The ratings don't compare with previous series which is a given with most tv shows but they're hardly 'appalling'. 2 million people is a hell of a lot of people. And if that many people are watching the same tv show then they are still doing something right.

It wouldn't make any sense. 8 out of 10 cats is a popular prime-time show for channel 4 and that only pulls around 800,000 viewers apparently, so why would channel 4 want to take a break from or scrap Big Brother when it's still one of their biggest shows if not their flagship show.

Of course its the last BB next year on CH4,Thats when the contract runs out.

Any future contracts would have to be under new terms because as far as i am aware CH4 paid 180 MILLION quid for the series 9,10 and 11.
This was because ITV at the time were interested,although now its thought they are not.

CH4 are said to be financially struggling so I dont see them renewing it.

The show needs a complete revamp with a new house in a new location with a newer format for the uk.
It also needs a year out.

If CH4 dont renew the contract then the show is lost.
This happened in Australia,poor ratings on a channel that had the show from the beginning.
It changed direction in its last year and even sacked the host of 7 years.
The ratings were poor and so it was ditched.
Rumours for months about which channel was going to pick it up,they all backed out leaving the show to grow cobwebs.

Its highly unlikely to return in the near future.
