I missed last year. What's so fascinating about sending Rex in? I vaguely know that he is a bit of a hate figure isn't he? They are sending in housemates that were involved in some classic tasks - what task is Rex famous for?

Search me. I couldn't bear him.

He had a huge fanbase though.

The man is a very unpleasant moron. I think I would have put up with him for about five minutes before putting him in his place if I was in the House last year. He made me shout at the television several times last year with his rude and discourteous behaviour. How he made it to the final night I will never know.

Rex Newmark? Rex Nomark, more like.

Top class housemate, puts all these weak bores to shame.

Of course, as with all big characters and personalities, haters come crawling from under the cupboards, lol.

Only one Rex, the man, quality.

Rex,love him or hate him-he kept BB9 going.
I wonder why BB producers didn't think to put Rachel Rice in the house
Will Rex be sporting his 'cone-head' hair style again?

He had a lot of female fans who found him attractive. He was also an early favourite for standing up to Jennifer's gang of bitches. Later on though, he basically turned on all of his friends. Some of the excuses that people made up for him on DS an the C4 forums beggared belief.

I love them. I watched Sezer from BB7 y'day for the 1st time, thought he was cool too. Quite a cool character infact. :spin:

I'm gonna have to make a list of my top housemates. I think 90% of them are classic BB hate figures. A few will be liked, but not many.

Neither of them were very good housemates if you ask me. The series would have been better off without Rex after his girlfriend walked in. BB9 would have been just as boring as BB4 while those two were in the house together if Mikey hadn't been there to challenge them.

I will admit, I was shocked that a classic panto-villian with a big personality and entertainment value, managed to come 4th. It baffled me, especially with the way the BB public vote.

Jason in BB5 came 2nd, and he was sort of panto-villainy because he wasn't fond of Nadia and was moody too, so he came through as well.

It's rare, but it does happen. And in both cases, it makes the series.

Good series manage to have exciting panto-villain HMs not being evicted too early.

Yep,putting whiney Nicole in BB9 was a big mistake!

Putting his GF in there last year as a HM was a HUGE mistake.....what a bloody bore he became... but his class one-liners and top-totty dismissive nature was priceless! :dance2:

hum did you not see the shopping task? Rex was entertaining, found things EPIC to do in the house to be fun, was outspoken and told people things like he saw them without crossing the line, I dont know what more you want... maybe you where one of those who voted for the girl with no personality to win so that's why you dont get it?

This guy is a troll, i've seen it all before. I almost admire the consistency though.
I'm being dead serious, I love these types, for me they make BB. Davina McCall loves them too, she likes the controversy and drama.

I'll give him one thing. Rex had the edge over Rachel in that he actually played a serious role in the drama of BB9.

But he was still one of the most unpleasant people ever to walk into the BB house and also pretty boring most of the time. What I found particularly frustrating were that his supporters often praised his "honesty", yet he lied repeatedly. People called him "entertaining" and "witty" when he was in fact every bit the grade A bore that Rachel and Stuart were.

Rex would have won without Nicole... BB did that to him on purpose.

Rex was never stitched up by Big Brother. If anything, he was given more special treatment than any other housemate in history. Channel 4 even closed the phone lines the evening before Nicole's entry into the house to protect Rex from being evicted that week.

Then there was the week BB fixed the statue task to determine HoH and allowed Rex to win, despite numerous reports from the Live Feed that Mohamed had managed to keep still for longer during the task.

rex has the love of the viewers... which obviously means he was meant to Be on BB... if BB fixed stuff for him it's not the first time or last... every reality show is like that. Rex started asking BB to bend the rules to much for him so BB got anoyed and put Nicole in the house... the last straw for BB was Rex's disrespect in the shopping task. I've seen this numerous times in BB US...

BB did more than bend the rules. They deceived the viewers. If word had gotten out that Nicole would be entering the house while the phone lines were still open, Rex would have been out on his arse and the show would no doubt have been in a much better state.

I liked Rex at the start, but was shocked at the way he treated his girlfriend.

I believe the former housemates are coming in to do classic tasks from the past: and that the one Rex was renowned for is the one where HMs have to wear a suit that will give a minor shock if a circuit is comlpeted.

He and Rachel had to do the classic kid's game of following a loop of metal without making contact: otherwise HMs get the shock :spin:

LOL it was hilarious when they keep making it touch the thing on purpose and all the hm's were screaming.
