Housemate get evicted and that's the end of that!

It is all a bit weird.

Just think for instance someone like Darren from BB1 who was watched on TV everyday for weeks by 7 million viewers. Yet ask anybody who he is today and they wouldn't have a clue.

It's truely scary how disposable these housemates are.

Well a slight exaggeration, 7 million was more the peak viewing audiences. Late into the show, the viewing figures, averaged at 5 million.

Part of the lie of Big Brother is that we are led into thinking that we got to know these people intimately over the space of a couple of months, but once the show is over, the reality sets in. Although we voyeuristically tuned into the events of their lives every day, they never had any real impact on our own lives.
