Nah she wasn't actually related to the royal, the relative was a successful stone mason who then became a bit of an enteupeneur, developed some land, became the mayor of windsor but got himself in debt....or at least that was my interpretation....

Davina is a legend...love her to bits, top lady....not to mention rather hot :thumbs:

loved it... I broke down when she broke down while hugging her french aunt who she said looked like her mother.

Learned alot about history too, from windsor castle, upton park, draper case to davina shining bright! I think it did alot of good for her.

just wish there was more about Davina and her estranged and alcoholic posh party girl mother!

she cried nearly everytime she mentioned her!

Isn't it great that celebrities get to trace their family trees for a TV programme and gets paid for it and yet, the public get nothing if we want to trace our distant relatives or ancestors. All wrong and then we are supposed to cry when they cry but who is going to give us the money to trace what we want to trace?

Just thought - all her hotels and transport were probably paid for just because she is a celebrity. We have to pay for our own hotels and airline fees. How wonderful that a celebrity. because of who she/he is can trace their family trees but we (the public) would have to pay for own search. Wrong, wrong and wrong. I was not in the slighest interested in Davina's past.

It is interesting how many of you were misled by the trails which emphasised the royal connection.
The programme showed that it was just a family myth.

If you worked hard to forge a career for yourself and in turn it led to an oppurtunity to learn about your family history would you turn it down.....it was a geat oppurtunity to learn about her family...fair play to her.

They also reckon that everyone with English roots is related to royalty within 8 generations
