Rodrigo's Diary Room Speech - Brutally Honest and Accurate; Brilliant!

I loved his speech in the diary room!

He pointed out that the ex HMs had star quality with charasma, the quality of making others laugh, are attractive and flat out entertaining.

He also criticized the HMs, saying that they were being idiots for vandalising the house and trying to put together a protest; he found it disrespectful and pointless, which is correct.

He then dissed them for being rebels, especially Halfwit for changing and clearly being led by Marcus; who's the sheep now ehh?

The best bit, he saved for last; saying that the HMs had 6 weeks to be entertaining and have fun; yet suddenly and only just today, they made their pathetic attempts to do just that. This being only due to the ex HMs showing them up upon their spicy entry.

It was so funny and so true; the irony was, it took the most boring, dim and delusional-happy HM to actually come out and say this!

I think the whole show and protest was brilliant, people have been complaing about no fun, but tonight every united (apart from Rodrigo, Karly and Lisa) and went mad. Tonights 2nd half of the show reminded me of BB5 days.

I think his point was that they all suck compared to the ex HMs.

The HMs pathetic attempts at being rebels to try and be entertaining for the day, to compete with the ex HMs, was a disrespectful farce.

I think he knows his limitations, and he realises the star quality and intriguing nature of ex HMs like Nikki, Brian, Michelle, etc.

I don't think that's true really. Too many bores survive evictions, many lame winners who are dull, and clever ones like Halfwit are doing well. I do agree that being retarded/disabled/black may well not count against you on BB though, and if one knows how to play off of that trait; it can help.

There's many ways to appease the public and ultimately fool them. The voting audience for BB is dimmer, more gullable and more emotionally sensitive than audiences of more intellectual shows.

This is true, but the HMs were squirming and acting in strong contrast to the past six weeks. The impact the ex HMs made, the affable comments made about the ex HMs presence/humour/personality and the admittal of being bored; all big indicators.

Ultimately, if you keep watching, you're being entertained; in one way or another. It may not even be conscious in some cases ... but you watch!

I couldn't care less if it was pointless, for the cameras, for the highlight show or whatever. I actually would prefer it if housemates decided to actually do things deliberately for the cameras. After all, that is what they are there for.

The real reason is that they were bored, hungry and already had some glimmers of fun with the previous housemates coming in. When you're sitting around all day, quite basically many things seem funner than they used to.

Yes but they haven't been consistent with it over the 6 weeks, or showed that at all. When it's genuine, it's far easier to sustain and reveal at all times of the day. You don't need to bottle it up or save it for a special occassion, as was seen here. It also comes across as contrived and fake, as dim-Rod even realised.

I agree they were bored, hungry and motivated because of the ex HMs. But if they were interesting and of a similar standard to the ex HMs, then they'd only be left with the hunger issue; so they could still be genuinely entertaining, and as a result be less vandalising/OTT/contrived/temporary in their actions today.

I thought the episode was interesting and funny. I don't think it came across as fake. It is simply that many of the HMs are very, very bored and have started (quite literally) climbing the walls. Being confined in a single location with relatively little to do makes people start to behave in unusual ways. Surely that is at least one of the points of the programme. I thought Rodrigo was annoying in the Diary Room. I don't think the ex-HMs have been any more interesting than the current ones.

I'm not calling people idiots for not liking Rodrigo...I'm calling them idiots for not recognizing that he is the one single respectable and normal person in there. My reaction to them doing the pathetic roof protest would have been sheer embarrassment...my reaction to them destroying the place like wild animals would have been disgust. He's well mannered, attractive, moral and emotional...traits the other housemates don't have one of between them. He's well mannered, attractive, moral and emotional...traits the other housemates don't have one of between them. Rodrigo is a hypocrit ....................encouraging Charlie to take the fire extinguiser into the bathroom, yet having a hissy fit when stuff is thrown into the pool. He is a petulant kill-joy who is becoming more insufferable day by day. And why single out Freddie as the "villain" when Marcus/Siavash were just as involved. Pleased to see that his odds to win with the bookies are dropping due to his increasingly volatile behaviour.

I'm with you AhmedFan. In my opinion, the 'revolts' were really very childish and immature. Surely they didn't really think that BB would give in to their demands over their pathetic attempts at blackmail.
