I think that in the absence of eduction and then to an extent culture a person seems to only see money and buying things as what they can do to garner happiness.

What I mean is whilst one can enjoy the outdoors, animals, literature and music the hoi poloi cannot and thus all they can see to do is buy thyings

does that make any sense, in relation to a Karly type?

Lets call it a match made in heaven, Karly wanted a man with lots and lots of money - and power/influence kenny wanted a relatively pretty girl who he could shape into his own girl, (here Karly dye your hair for me, here Karly wear these contact lenses)

Suddenly little Snarly doesnt seem to be this independant girl who stands up for herself, course I may be wrong, she may have argued for all of ten or fifteen minutes with kenny till he mentioned money
