Vanessa was in the wrong place at the wrong time and became the fourth Housemate of the day to be driven potty by Science, after Kemal, Makosi and Anthony.
Vanessa might have been the quietest Housemate, but the lady gave as good as she got when Science got on his soapbox.
As Captain, Science told Vanessa to man the crow's nest, which she refused to do until she had finished eating. She told him she used to have respect for him but not since his rows with Kemal.
Vanessa called him "arrogant" and told him he was unable to have a conversation without it turning into an argument.
Science defended himself, saying he was only fulfilling his Captain's role and asked Derek if he'd seen him do anything wrong. Derek said he'd seen nothing, prompting Vanessa to call him the "snake in the corner".
Vanessa told Science that she would "rather fail this task than have you [Science] put me in my place."
She also asked what had happened to Science, that he had changed since being quiet for a week. "Quiet for a whole week?" said Science. "Am I Vanessa? Do I wear a dress?"
Kemal popped in for a cameo, telling Science, "People watching this, do you know what they're thinking? Cock!" before flitting back to the bedroom.
"Don't pick a fight with someone you can't even hold a conversation with," Science warned Vanessa.
"Why the hell would I want to have a conversation with you?" asked an am-I-bothered Vanessa.
