Leona saves rabbit from grisly death
Animal lover Leona Lewis rescued a pet rabbit from a homeless man in LA, because he told her he was planning to eat it. The Bleeding Love singer spotted the rabbit tethered to a lead in the streets and asked the homeless man holding it what he planned to do. When he admitted he might "eat it", an horrified Leona gave him $100 (about £61) to hand it over and told him to buy some proper food. Melrose, as he's now named after the street on which he was found, is now living it up at the star's LA pad. A friend of Leona's said, "She didn't think life on a lead was any way for a rabbit to live – then when he said he was going to eat it she knew she had to save it." That's one lucky bunny!

To be fair I think most people would have done that... if they had that much money to throw. Most people would have called RSPCA or something, so it's not exactly "outstandingly" sweet.

Either way, it was nice of her not to turn a blind eye in that instance, but she's only saved one bunnies life whereas all around the world animals are dying unfairly too.

It's only a bloody rabbit. People eat rabbit all the time, I don't see the big problem. Leona Lewis isn't vegetarian (if she is please correct me) so why isn't she out paying farmers to let go of pigs and the like.

Its always worse when you see them alive, noone really cares once its in a butchers counter

That is actually quite sweet, a lot of us would see it and turn a blind eye. But hey if we all had £61 spare hanging about, I am sure we would all do something just as sweet.
