Oh dear. Big Brother's ratings woes continue, with last night's highlights show coming bottom out of all the big 5 channels!
Terrible rating.
It only got 2.2m at 9pm, beaten by every other channel.
BBC1 - 3.0m
BBC2 - 2.5m
ITV1 - 3.2m
Five - 2.6m
This is terrible news for Big Brother and the rubbish ratings show that the programme requires live feed to survive.
Yes, you heard it: BIG BROTHER CAME BOTTOM

To be honest, that's fairly average for this series. Wasn't there one show with like 1.9million?

BBC2 and Channel Five are not big!
Even last year, Big Brother was beating these channels and sometimes beat ITV1.
Now it's being beaten by everbody! :joker:
ha that is well bad csi:miami had more uk viewers than bb :/

But let's be honest, it's hardly been compelling viewing plus the format is getting obsolete. Not easy saying that when your a BB fan.
what do you expect when people vote out the best characters?
people would rather watch hira do nothing and say nothing and be involved in none of the storylines, than kenny who as made a huge impact in three days so much so people on here cant stop talking about him.
thats the reason bb loses ratings every year because the so called fans of the show boot out the stars and keep in the dead wood.
and thats why bb is coming to an end.

Well its no secret BB has been shedding viewers over recent years.
I didn't actually watch the last two series. But this one has grabbed my interest again.
But the contract runs out next year so its the right time to end it all.
When it comes to ratings its all relative; would CH4 get more viewers with a different show at that time? Low BB ratings can still be higher than they usually get in those time slots.
ps; should also remember that BB gets repeated a few times too so viewers may watch it later instead.

What you on about???? It got 2.7m!!! It was the highest non eviction show of the series!(apart from the 1st HL show)
And look at the difference between the top and the bottom, there was half a million in between teh top and bottom.

It got 2.2m during 9-10pm, you liar. Look here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/jul/22/desperate-romantics-tv-ratings
So in its slot, it came last!

Shame.
One of the best episodes so far but I admit if it wasn't for iplayer I would have watched BB2 at 9pm. There's always +4 and of course on demand as well and on demand views are not counted.

BBC1- 3.0m
C4- 2.7m

it was the highest because people wanted to see kenny in action, and now they're gonna get rid of him. so expect ratings to drop back under 2 million next week.
so called bb fans are killing bb by voting out the charecters.
wake up and smell the coffee.

+1 isn't always added. Media Guardian didn't add them.
The fact is that between 9-10pm, Big Brother came directly bottom! :blush2:

Umm its not my fault that people cant stand Kanneth, he's a dickhead, i dont find it interesting to watch someone that pisses me off and nor do other people. I like watching interesting villain characters like Victor, Jason and Rex. Not unlikeable dullards like Kenneth.

I'm sorry, but you know it's bad when people are in this thread defending a 2.2 rating. There are no excuses.

Perhaps it would be a better thread if you analyse what was on in competition?
The argument falls flat unless you compare what else was on and what audience it gets. BBC1 and BBC2 both had a new series on and 5 had its biggest hitter CSi. Itv1 had another new series.
Not surprising that BB came last but the figs for BB were still strong and I bet the demographics (what count) were perfect for the advertisers (who count).
but that is the name of the game getting people out you hate big brother lost ratings because people can only watch an hour a day also sometimes on too late the the eviction at 11pm friday night bblb is crap. not everbody can use computers or own one to see wots going on

C4 can afford to lose BB. It's really caught up with the others, and even starting to over-take them with T4, 4OD, E4 and all the ''let's look at ugly people and laugh at them'' shows.
And let's be honest, BB has run it's course...everyone's sick of reading about ex housemates in the papers, no-one cares about them.

Yes but its the highest rated HL show which got 2.7m, a few weeks go, it was strggling to break the 2m mark, at least its going up.
And it constantly gets the highest ratings for C4, so why would C4 want to get rid of it??

Im guessing not, the ratings have gone up an average of 400,000 since the ex-HMs have gone in.

Go on Inside BB, compare last nights 2.7m to the previous weeks, look at how much it has increased since Week 3! and look at the Tuesday shows in Week 3 and 4, last night was 800,000 up on that!
You cant doubt that viewers are coming back, look at the week averages, and look they have gone up 5 weeks in a row.
Some shows havent even managed 2.2m with +1 so it can't be that bad (even though it is quite bad). I like knowing them but tbh I don't really care about the ratings. After the worst couple of weeks ever it now feels like classic BB and the ratings have started picking up in accordance with that. But if it was only me left watching the show I wouldnt care, I don't care who else watches it just as long as I enjoy it :cheer:

This makes me laugh. Not only is IsleOfWeather bang on with what they said but the fact that people even discuss the ratings shows that Big Brother is still doing it's job! And if you're going to make the effort to come and post on a forum about a show then obviously you havn't lost interest in the show.
For a show that's on 7 days a week the viewing figures are more than adequate to justify channel 4 keeping Big Brother. The show is all over the net, watched online, in the papers, magazines, talked about on other shows...etc.
It keeps Channel4 in the spotlight in so many ways that viewing figures just aren't as important as some people like to make out.
I'm sure people who obsess with the viewing figures have issues! It's like you get some weird kick out of the chances of Big Brother being taken of air! :conf: It's just strange!

and dont forget the advent of the iplayer etc online - basic tv audience stats are now only one part of the story.
how much do c4 now make online?
I bet this year will surpass all others

Been watching every episode this series and I've watched half the episodes online and half 'on demand' on Bt vision.
