Chose your favourite 80's action film
The Delta force
Chuck Noris best film by a mile, with a top Cast including Lee Marvin and Robert forester from Jackie Brown Fame. It's got a classic theme song and the action is top notch and the acting is top class especially from Forester as the terroist Bad guy.
amercian Ninja 1 and 2
Tough call to chose the best from 1 and 2 but 1 gets the nod cause of the better action but thats not saying part 2 isn't worth a look. Michael Dudikoff is good as the amercian Ninja but these films belong to Steve James( sadly passed away from Cancer in 92) a scaptain Curtis Jackson the sidekick. No pieces of art but damn great action films.
BloodSport
Jean claude van Damme's Best film and what a film as a kid this was the tape of my dads i always stole:laugh:. Van Damme was a class act in this as its based on a true story as well which makes it even better and the soundtrack makes it even better.
other action films from the 80's
Commando
Raw Deal
Predator
Die Hard
Police story with Jackie Chan

I'm finding it very difficult to decide upon a favourite action film of the 80's because that decade produced some real crackers. Action is also a more varied genre than one would think becuz you can find action in many genre pieces- in thrillers, comedies, sci fi... you name it.
Also, for every classic action film I love there's also cr"£ppier films that owe alot to the originals that I love to watch. Plus the 80's spawned alot of cheap silly actioneers that are bloody hilarious to watch now.
1. Raiders of the Lost Ark...... the all time great that every action adventure since has tried to duplicate but never equalled. It refuses to get old. I love all the sequels...well except for the last one.
2. Mad Max 2..... I love this one. Gibson at his best, before he became a megastar and done on a shoestring budget. Puts alot of Hollywood films to shame with it's sheer energy and coolness.
3.Die Hard.... Another classic that they've tried to copy over the years. Everything about it is great, from the cinematography to the music. And don't forget Alan Rickman as the baddie.
4.Aliens/Terminator.... I know they're more sci-fi but the action in both of them is just killer. Cameron at his best.
5.The Killer.... Absolute madness- Gunplay and killing. Not sure about the plot but who cares when there's this much carnage going on?
Also rans.... Lethal Weapon, Living Daylights (Dalton is the most underrated Bond), Roadhouse-so bad it's good, 48 Hours, Predator, Rambo First Blood.

Predator
Black Rain
The Terminator
Aliens. Loved H.R. Giger's work in this.
Terminator 2. Classic. Perhaps the only movie that still freaks me out.

i knew mad max 2 would bug u. lol. it's so good...such a minimalistic movie. and the way miller created such wonderfully exciting action scenes with the barest of budgets. and gibson was cool as f£$k in it

I'm not huge on them to tell you the truth.... they're good though. I enjoy the cheesiness in all his films- have you seen Lone Wolf Mcquade? That's a great and silly Chuck Norris vehicle. So over the top and ridiculous. You'll love it lol.
You can't help but love the silliness...... I just feel that his flicks can be a little too cruel sometimes. Too black and white and forceful in their "America is great" kinda attitude. You know? But that makes them interesting to watch and reflect on the society that created them. Anyway, sorry for waffling lol

That's true. Good actors around him in that one. David Carradine is the villain in Lone Wolf Mcquade. It's like Walker Texas Ranger but with decent action.... when he was still able to do the business.
