I saw this on the forums today

How can people support someone whilst knowing so little about him?

Dominic Cummings was the Brain child or evil genius depending on where you stand, behind Brexit. He was the former chief of staff to education secretary Michael Gove and was known amongst the ranks as a bit of an “antichrist” a “pseudo-intellectual” and a bit of a "trickster"

As the assigned “Vote Leave” chief, he was the brains behind the NHS bus and the “Taking back control” campaign. Cummings openly admited that to get mass votes, they would need some toxic immigration messages. He always refused to work with the likes of Farage but now Cummings and his team decided to use both Farage and Johnsons public voice to start the buzzwords much needed to get the people of Britain excited.
Farage saw this as a way in. Up until now he had been rejected at every turn

Cummings was later to admit that without racism and the red bus, the leave campaign didn’t stand a chance. By using these two ego driven buffoons, they suddenly had the entire countries attention. Farage had been the puppet for immigration control and Johnson was more about making the impossible possible. Farage was subsequently kicked into the long grass, at least for now. He had his uses but the group now didn’t like the way he tarnished the rest of the team and so decided to use him only when absolutely necessary.

So we voted Brexit and when we did, neither Farage or Johnson had any plan about what to do next and for that matter, neither did Cummings. Farage hadn’t even been included in the ‘behind closed door campaign’.

Brexit never did have an exit plan. Instead, the IEA put out a competition. A prize of £100,000 would be awarded to the person who could devise the best means of leaving the EU. The prize went to some minor official for the British Embassy in Manila!

And so the political fantasy began. Leave without a deal by promising everything whilst committing to nothing. That idea came from Cummings too but again he needed some stooges to put the word out. Johnson and Farage where once again picked to take center stage. Cummings has been known to say, “Brexit is an empty idea but has allowed millions to believe in Narnia.

For Cummings it was a game/a bit of a laugh/the perfect post-rational politics. For Johnson and Farage, its kept them in the lime light and earned them good salaries but I suspect its not only Farage who will disappear once Brexit happens.
