Yes, but we don't live in the 00's anymore. We can't just send generic ethno-pop songs and expect to please people. Especially the juries can't get pleased so easily.
I'm personally not a fan of my country's entries, the only ones I love are 2005, 2008, 2012 and 2015.
I think the UK's problem is that you don't take the contest seriously, just like Greece. The difference is that we have found something that usually works, that's ethno-pop.
