People want to get high. It's an undeniable fact of life and an inherent human urge many of us feel. Think of a young toddler that spins around to make him or herself 'dizzy'. It's fine that you don't feel the need to, but many of us like it.

It's incredibly, incredibly degrading that you are labelling every pot smoker, beer drinker, and coffee guzzler in the world as someone who NEEDS to take drugs to deal with the stresses of life.

Speaking for myself, I lead an incredibly happy, productive, fulfilled life and as of now I can say with confidence that I have no problems at all going on either in my head or around me. I simply like getting stoned. It's fun. Just like some other people like to drink a few cans to have fun. It's not a necessity and that's a stone cold fact. You are WRONG.

Oh get real. You are talking about getting high. You do it because being 'sober' means dealing with worries, fears, real problems and distress. We all have that and we all need to find ways to get a grip on it using good ole fashioned mental concentration, meditation techniques and so on.
But you just want to get effed-up and play guitar-hero and be stupid for a while. And yes it absolutely makes you stupid.
It is also a dangerous drug that really ****s up some people, makes them scared, paranoid and even mentally traumatized.
    Not you.
Plenty of fires, car accidents and crimes of neglect can be attributed to people high on weed. That is great.

In China I saw people arrested protesting things like HAVING ENOUGH FOOD and sanitary living conditions and medicine for Senior Citizens.
But you want to devote your time to getting high on weed.
    Wow.
    No wonder people hate us.
"I want to get high in my living room and watch cartoons while totally baked!"
    Stupid.

That's a very narrow view of the situation. It's not just a 'right to get high'. It's a principal based on smashing the hypocrisy of allowing more dangerous drugs to be freely available. It's about freeing up hundreds of thousands of prison cells full of non violent offenders. It's about saving billions and making billions more on tax revenue that can be pumped into rehabilitation programmes, science, the education system, you name it.

It's about a lot, really, and I daresay you have much of a clue about any of it. Your suggestion that I should 'stop it now' is both absurd and highly patronising.

Altering ones neurochemistry should not be a right you have to earn. The war on drugs, particularly Cannabis, has done far more harm than good, and most scientific bodies agree and reccomend decriminalization.

Even if you don't like Cannabis it doesn't really factor into it. The law is simply doing more harm than good. It's not a silly little student niche for me, it's a serious issue.
