It's warm, but in a close, sticky way. Need a good thunderstorm! I am bunking off but I'm going home - all country lanes and no opportunity of treating myself, sadly. I'm taking the roof down though, and turning the music up. Lovely chatting as always. x

Brutal's a good word. Something's wrong this year, with the show and with the forum. I've never seen so many aggressive new people bounce onto the forum and tell us where we've been going wrong all this time.

I'm sure you'll see lots of amazing stuff on your travels... and although the camps aren't what you'd call "amazing" they are certainly memorable and thought-provoking.

Most people know Jews, and they aren't even aware. Some of us are just... normal LOL. I'm sure a lot of people would be shocked at how many Hollywood actors and actresses are actually Jewish. We just get everywhere! I think everyone should visit Auschwitz or Belsen or one of the other camps. I think it's important to remember it so that it can never happen again. My great grandmother was a very sane, non-nonsense, down to earth woman, except for one thiing: she kept a little case under her bed with her passport, some money, her jewellery (such as it was) and other bits and pieces, because she was convinced that at some point, "they'd" come to take her away and she'd have to be ready to go in the night before "they" got there. Sad... Now we're both miserable, we should probably lighten the mood LOL

Yes, they are more religious, certainly than I am... although I do follow my religion, they are more observant. I wouldn't call them Orthodox Jews. I guess there are communities like that across the country. Muswell Hill is where a lot of my relatives live in London. Ahhh yes, Jack. The relatives I have who survived the camps are still terrified and haunted by it. They still dream of it. Anyway... watching that programme I realise that Jews are probably the uncoolest people on earth LOL...

I did watch Strictly Kosher, yes... and honestly, we're not all like that! I mean, I know lots of people like that (I'm even related to a few). It was rather funny though. I did love the old boy who'd been in the concentration camp.
