And tbh as much as the bigger stories are what I really loved about it, the standalones can be great individual episodes of tv, plenty have really cool twists. Hope you like it!

Tbf a good chunk of them are standalone cases, but the focus on the ongoing storylines significantly increases over time, as do the sci fi elements which were more muted at first. Basically it starts out feeling like one of the many generic procedurals that are already out there, albeit with a more unique premise, but evolves into something else entirely, patience is definitely rewarded.

It's different to Westworld but they're both tackling the same ideas in different ways.

Westworld feels like a spiritual successor to Person of Interest. It was such a brilliant show (well, it grew from a decent show into a brilliant show) and ended up receiving some of the absolute best reviews I've ever read tbh, it was acclaimed but underwatched
