GI Joe is incredibly American It was a popular children's toy... in fact, as I think about it, a lot of cartoons were made to market toys.. (which is kinda sad)

I'm curious, did you guys get a lot of the 80s cartoons that played in the US? Captain Planet is 1990, but it pays homage to that "era"...

Surprised Captain Planet wasn't a thing there or maybe it went off air before you would've seen it?... we have a US law called the Children's Act that requires cartoons had education/informational value. And Captain Planet was basically pro-environmentalist.

For example, in the US Sailor Moon (which played here around 5-6am), sometimes they had positive messaging at the end of the episodes... the first few years of my life on the internet was me furiously googling Sailor Moon spoilers like an obsessive stan (I was 12) at school because so much of the show was censored or the script was rewritten.
