..you agonise...we just enjoy and fall in love with it...we have the good deal here...a bit like being a forum moderator as oppose to being us who aren’t.....

..the more stuff you cut out, the bigger your creative store will be...so you’re doing it perfectly I feel..and a novella is a good avenue for that...but whichever comes first...the book or the novella..?...it’ll be a joy to read, I know...

..is what I think...

..I don’t know if I’m making sense.....but you created so many characters in Black that hold stories as other people and in other circumstances and in other lives, you know...so nothing is cut as such...it’s just taken aside and kept on a shelf to see if you find use for it in a future writing...some won’t ever have a use because it would be hard to develop them further ...but some maybe would....so it’s like a little writing store you have already..of so many interesting and lovely creations...you won’t cut, you’ll just lay aside for now...

..because she’s not dead, you’ve created her and she’s still there for her to reach the page any time you choose and if you choose...and similar with Carla Caravo, that sneaky little Carla who we know so little about...a bit of a mystery lady...she has a story as well...if you choose her to have a story...only she wouldn’t be Carla, you would create her as someone else...

...but though...characters like Lady Ophelia..?..not the actual person she was but the outline of her character could be resurrected in another novella or novel...she obviously would have another name and no two people are identical etc...but the essence of her is there if you ever felt she fitted into another story...?..a high society lady who hated the high society ways and the pomp of it all and was gritty and down to earth with great kindness and great humour...humour that could cut stupidity or pomp to the bone with the flick of her fan...that kind of thing.....

...I think for me with a writer..?...there’s so much more scope than any other creative thing...because the restrictions aren’t there as much so very little needs to be cut...what I mean is..for instance with Black..?...you had really under developed characters there...but they were developed perfectly for Black...I mean they all fitted in that beautifully...and some wouldn’t be able to stretch outside Black...

...now it’s just the nitty gritty of rearranging it all so it flows on a page and is the right length etc and contains all the key things it needs to...

..that’s how you’re a natural writer and your head is full of the greatest things...the talent has already been released and more or less completed...
