It is definitely mind-boggling to me because it's to be expected that teenagers would eat it up or that it's something young adults would put on the TV after work or something lol, but so many middle-aged people watch it and constantly tweet about it? I guess it's not a show to take seriously and it's refreshing. I do think it's a phenomenon that will fade soon though, the UK are getting two seasons next year and people will easily get tired of it, not to mention this recent season has been especially ruled by meme culture.

To me Love Island is the type of show that is good to watch live just to keep you occupied, but I doubt I'll wind up watching any of the older seasons. The show is obviously all lovey dovey, so it lacks severely in the character developement department, although the winner's arc is beautiful this year But this one has definitely been enjoyable and I would recommend atleast watching everything of Maura that's possible on YT cause she truly is a treasure <3

Surprisingly, I watched the entire season of UK's Love Island this year which is the last thing I thought I'd end up doing, but I honestly enjoyed it. While it thrives on superficiality and is manipulated by production a lot of the time, it's certainly a lot fun and it's kind of a breath of fresh air after watching stuff like Big Brother and Survivor most of my life which did a lot more of pissing me off rather than entertaining me.
