Sometimes it's better too to go for the more natural stuff in some things, because your body will have an easier time removing what you don't actually need. I have to take Iron because I'm chronically anemic (I have small person syndrome
), but I had to switch to natural with probiotics because the Iron pills made me so sick.
I take boo-coos amount of Magnesium Malate (recommended is 310mg, I'm on 1250mg), and it's totally resolved my chronic pain and helps with IBS and recovering from exercise, so nice bonus. It's almost like epsom salt. It's really difficult to OD on. Usually if you take too much of something, it will cause some other deficiency (don't trust me, ask your doctor to check in your blood work :/)... high Zinc can cause copper deficiency.
I think it's better to have a dr who works more in natural medicine, but they are not so common and insurance doesn't cover them (plus really expensive).
