I have a friend who is a health nut who sees several Eastern medicine practitioners, so we exchange notes. I did finally find a PCP that practices both Western/Eastern. The office is really no different than your typical doctor, but they have Asian physicians on staff who translate to various languages. When I get my bloodwork, the nurse who draws is the translator to/from and she is insistent we speak only in Japanese. Kinda a weird time and place to use that skillset ...

Maybe in Korea, you can find someone there who is knowledge on this.

Sometimes it's better too to go for the more natural stuff in some things, because your body will have an easier time removing what you don't actually need. I have to take Iron because I'm chronically anemic (I have small person syndrome ), but I had to switch to natural with probiotics because the Iron pills made me so sick.

I take boo-coos amount of Magnesium Malate (recommended is 310mg, I'm on 1250mg), and it's totally resolved my chronic pain and helps with IBS and recovering from exercise, so nice bonus. It's almost like epsom salt. It's really difficult to OD on. Usually if you take too much of something, it will cause some other deficiency (don't trust me, ask your doctor to check in your blood work :/)... high Zinc can cause copper deficiency.

I think it's better to have a dr who works more in natural medicine, but they are not so common and insurance doesn't cover them (plus really expensive).

Ohhhh Zinc. I tried adding it to my regime once. It was just something I picked it up at the store on recommendation. The Zinc by itself. This was when I was trying different recommendations. My body said no more by Day 2, it was a very bad reaction. I looked it up and it can be surprisingly easy to OD (though the reaction would be pretty instantaneous). Now I just stick with minerals that aren't easy to OD and very common herbs. I don't know why they sell it with so many MG. I looked it up and women were around 8mg and men slightly higher. They do the same in the US, so I guess there's some reason for it.

Plus I have so much different creative stuff--I'm a little bit into everything--calligraphy, painting, writing, music (very very little), etc.. plus I love to teach. I learned to read basic stuff before pre-school and was reading/spelling decently by 1st. I don't put up with nonsense though My husband has it so easy... but, his job is ridiculously stressful, so it evens out I guess

Ugh, these word limits are killing me. We should use korean/JP, can fit omre text in the space... ^-^

Wow what supplement did you take? I rarely touch herbals for the same reason, but a lot of people I know use the KSM, so I gave it a try. I call that one Assganda. I had severe reaction to birth control and with that went my memory (I was messed up)... I'm still having some issues a year or two after, so thought it would help me to come back a little bit faster.

I'm used to raising big children (adults). My mother was a single parent, but she had a mentality of a 12 year old so there was a lot of child raising the parent, etc. She is very emotional and used to have frequent tantrums. Children will probably be super easy in comparison. I feel like I have to worry more about over-parenting. I will probably be able to enjoy being a little bit of a child myself though so that will be nice.

I actually stop to do music sessions (headbanging/visual meditation, etc) regularly as it helps a lot to keep my adrenaline going. I work from home mainly, so I have to learn all these little hacks to stay focused and then also do self-study to keep up with my skills... so have a sub for this to a continuing education site. It's also super easy to get distracted when you don't have peers to sit there and kick you off your ass.

I debated getting a tutor to improve my Japanese ear, but it's been too busy. My husband actually just let right now to go take the exam to get into the academy to move from mental health in detentions to the streets (peace officer). We're planning kids within the next 6mo/yr, but relatively soon. Going to start a new diet/taking some vitamins my gyno recommended for that before we try

That's great actually as-is, because you'll at least be acquainted. I can give is to just buy some cheap notebooks and start writing. When I write, I retain much better. Laptop for notes is no good for me, but I've got binders full of texts and self-studies I'd re-transcribed. I'm brushing back up on C# right now for app-development in Windows.

I'm also playing around with sketch notes. If you're a doodler, might be useful for self-teaching or just to prevent mental numbness when taking notes during course. I think give it a try if you get bored easily in class... creativity is shown to increase mental clarity/focus. You can also try vits (B-50, KSM66).

I have an idea. You should speak Korean 30% of the time and English 70% starting now.

If you wanted to start early though to have an 'edge' though, I highly recommend lang-8 (http://www.lang-8.com) ... native speakers will correct your korean for you line-by-line. It's an awesome resource. Wish these things were around when I was studying Japanese. When I learned, it was on a site that had chatrooms by dialect (omg painful start)... and I had to work line by line with a dictionary on Windows 98 with crappy IME support and various other books to juggle that . At least you'll have classes and you have the option to install Korean software on your PC to help with immersion also.

You can always start learning the language early I wish I had gone abroad in school, it was one of my major dreams. Maybe sometime later in life after kids ...

I think grab the opportunity and make the most of it while you can. Studying abroad will almost certainly make you grow as a person

    Congrats!
