For gender-fluid though, folk can get around the pronouns... they'll just get their own suffix probably. That's like with Lesbian characters, they can use -kun/-くん which would normally be for a boy... and -chan is universal. Anyway, while Japanese standard is pretty set in stone, with dialects, they change up everything, including some vocabulary, VERB ENDINGS, spelling, pronoun changes, etc... so adding another -suffix, no one would bat an eye. In anime, it's been done, but they've also used differente ending particles... so like "yo" at the end of a sentence would be the same as a question mark... a unique character may have their own unique ending to go with their excessive personality.. I like that the main language is so structured that making these unique changes/dialect shifts are easily relatable across the island...

*Wakarimasen (polite) -- I don't understand (just the verb--"I" is not used)...
    *Wakaranai (casual)
    *Wakarimahen (Osaka/Kansai)

Yeah, I guess the grammar structure is similar to Japanese. In Japanese, you can drop pronouns also or even skip some grammar...but it's much more logical than English, imo, as you can see logically why some grammar works the way it does... it feels more natural than English at times because there's not like 50 ways to say one thing... there really is only a few logical ways to say something, so it's harder to mix the meaning up gramatically? English is more dependent on tone of voice compared to Japanese.

Probably I will rebuild my desk again, but for now, I'm much more comfortable than I used to be When it got real bad, I was leaning over in pain and couldn't raise my head... it was not fun. So yeah... posture... do it man

NSAID's are to keep inflammation down, but they can cause stomach ulcers iirc. They come with an information packet full of warnings/guidelines in the US.

My problem is I am resuming working in a sitting position and while there's still healing going, it's still taking getting used to getting my body back to where it needs to be, so I'm still getting inflammation and needing to keep it down to keep nerve from getting pinched ... I probably need an Xray, but even if it's a bulging disk, I'd be doing the same things I am doing now to "treat", which would be to bring my shoulders back... I did change my office setup and that helped dramatically. I'm super short, so I couldn't figure out what to do about a desk chair as everything I could find the seats are too deep... so I just changed to a really nice drafting chair, raised my computer desk up on adjustable Ikea legs, so I can technically use it as a standing desk if I need to... I have a drafting table also, so I use it there too

It's much easier to learn while you're immersed because you will become dependent on it, but it could help with culture shock to at least pick up a little before you leave.. maybe skip grammar entirely, just focus on learning the alphabet and get a small list of basic words? Maybe also the pronouns, (like "I", "you", "he", "they", etc...) I think that would help to pick up faster while you are being immersed there... than trying to remember some point of grammar while in a social situation.

Also I opened Lang-8 after a long time... I want to get back into my Japanese studies. Mainly get into more advanced grammar than what I know, pick up more Kanji and I need to expand my vocabulary (that's always the case)...

Anyway, I started using Honey+Cinnamon as topical 1x/day and then aloe vera gel as needed... I stopped taking NSAIDs and the natural solution works better than my meds did o_O... anyway, trying to give my liver a break. I finished my PT after my neck injury, so I was able to get off most medication and just continue working at home...(I think I told you about it before I went)

It's been worse this year for me as well, but I think that's mainly down to lots of humid weather, very bad pollen/allergies and now a heatwave. Aloe vera is safer though as it's very similar to what you would get from the leaf if you were to cut it off and use for a wound. There's a drinkable form, but I think better to use the gel form... it dries really quickly and feels very cool and nice It makes my skin feel soft... I don't know how humid Korea is compared to here, but I like to have it on hand for the warmer nights too, as it's not oily like lotions are.. it feels cool like alcohol, but without the drier feeling afterwards and it just feels a more natural moist versus an oily kind... so good for a humid climate as it feels refreshing, not like "adding" more stuff.
