The vampires are different because they mingle with the muggles, work, go to school... well some of them do. Oh, you'll see at some point.

I watched a few episodes of Being Human UK and thought it sucked the big one. Consequently I didn't bother with the US version. Might give it a go then, on your recommendation.

The love story is integral to the plot, but it isn't the whole plot. The story builds over the films. And this is a new take not only on vampires but on the werewolves too. Like I said there's a whole back-story about them and their reasons for being. I've bullied male friends (and my brother and my Dad...) into watching it and they've had to admit it's good. I think it got a really bad press with a lot of film fans because teenage girls kind of lapped it up. Okay, I'm going to stop selling it to you now and let you watch it if you want.
