Going to have to watch that again and again. Was just so good...

An explanation about Jack's son:
He was the physical manifestation of Jack's father/son issues. Playing them out from the opposite side helped him gain perspective. |

I couldn't get asleep earlier so I watched The Incident.. Not even tired now after that finale, woke me right up. Think I'll try and find a link for the Jimmy Kimmel show.

what happened to jacob?

You mean after his conversation with Jack last episode?
He told Hurley that when his ashes had burnt up in the fire he "wouldn't see him again". The ashes burned out after he passed his responsibility over to Jack, and he moved on. |
The episode was great, and played out how I thought it might. I knew they weren't going to suddenly just answer every question ever posed in the 6 series, and to me that didn't even matter. Lost has never been about answering questions directly, and I was reading the Lost Forums just a few minutes ago and there are loads of people whining that they've wasted 6 years watching the show and are annoyed that stuff wasn't answered.
The whole show has been a journey. A story with a beginning, a middle and an end. The characters are what made that show, and the finale really focused on who they are and their importance in it all. The great thing about Lost is that there really don't need to be answers. One of the reasons this show got so popular is because things weren't explained at the end of every episode, and people got into it. Everyone had their own ideas in their head of what they thought was happening, and what they wanted to happen. To go and answer everything would mean people would lose the 'connection' they had with the show. The element of mystery is what made that episode more enjoyable for me. |
I can't think of one important question that wasn't answered?
|
David, do you know where I can watch the Jimmy Kimmel show that aired after the finale?

It seems so obvious what the Alt was all about now looking back when Rose said to Jack on the plane in the Alt " you can let go now " that was the biggest clue.

I think with LOST; the people who criticise it for being 'ridiculous' aren't true fans of the show. It was never about being realistic; it has elements of fantasy, science fiction, whatever you want to call it; in the context of every day people's lives. It's much easier to watch the show and enjoy it if you don't expect it to make sense. All of my friends criticise it for the polar bear and the smoke monster; yet will happily watch something like Heroes or True Blood which both also rely on the viewer accepting the norm within the show is not the norm in real life.
The finale was great, it was everything I could have wanted - seeing the reappearance of all those ex cast members was brilliant. I laughed at the line about Shannon "it was a pain in the ass getting her here." I wish all the actors and actresses from the show the best in the future, they all deserve it :). |
