Hmm... Then I don't know
Can't really think it's the battery, as it should still synchronise as soon as the computer connects to the web

Jessica. 12-02-2011 03:13 PM

:)

How do I delete things from my screen? Whatever thing I go on there is always a long line along the bottom with lots of things to click on... :P

That happened to my sisters laptop, I just set it to manual time or something and that fixed it for a while, although if the batter utterly goes it can be annoying as you have to reset it.

I don't know what you are talking about? Can you elaborate?

Yeah, sure. Basically there is something that looks abit like a kite in the left hand side, and to the right of that are all of these odd pictures that sometimes have squares around. Then there is a gap, and then it tells me the time. It never goes unless I am watching films on large screen.

Poor attempt at humour... thanks anyway though Jess!

On a serious note, is there a good website to find avatars from, or does someone want to make me a nice new one?

Oh sorry I didn't get your joke. :bawling:

I can make you an avatar if you tell me what you want.
I don't really know any good sites though.

I keep getting the following when I go on certain sites. Does anyone know how to fix it? I have googled but nothing much helps.

Clicking yes or no doesn't help, as it still returns.

I've never had this happen to me, but it sounds as if your processor and memory can't cope with the media you're trying to play. Open your task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) to see how much of your CPU and physical memory is free and see what programmes you can close to try and free it up.

It might also be add-ons to your browser slowing it down, which case I probably can't help as I've also had issues with this and removing plug-ins and extensions from Firefox is a pain in the backside. Clearing your browser's cache might help though or even something as simple as closing and re-opening it.

Cheers  will try that and fingers crossed it will work then. The second bit you suggest, I usually do that with firefox, and clean the cache regularly, so am assuming it's probably not that one.

I actually have the very same problem as you, all I do is press play and then pause when it starts to play and then let it buffer almost all the way. I don't really know what else because it's mostly down to your internet how long it takes. Sorry.

Happens to me quite often, my internet goes through weird patches where videos dont load very well. It's DivX videos that really annoy me though, they're so unbelievably slow, I tried to watch a film and I left it to load for about 3 hours or so and it only buffered an hour of it, had to give up in the end

Stacey. 20-02-2011 02:32 PM

It happens to me sometimes aswell

Shasown 20-02-2011 02:58 PM

It could be slow internet connection speed, browser cache, your computers age and processor and how many other routines your processor is actually carrying out, or even the fact that a lot of people are accessing the same file or server as yourself.(There really is no such thing in the computer world as unlimited).

Older versions of Firefox didnt clear its cache properly, go onto a geek forum for firefox and see if that problem is affecting the version you use. If it is one of the versions affected either update it or manually empty the three or four locations where cookies and temps are stored.

Novo 20-02-2011 03:15 PM

I use Chrome, it's only started being slow recently, since Thursday or Friday.. just going to clear loads of **** and hope for the best.

This advice is posted on a few advice/tech forums its applicable to most browsers not just chrome:

Quote:

Overtime most browsers may start to run slow. It is not just Chrome running slow but many other browsers have also been found to run slower at times. Not only this the web browsers may even totally crash due to some strange errors in Windows. Internet browsers are prone to catch errors not just from computer but from internet itself. Thus they need our special care. The same is true if you have noticed Google Chrome slow processing in your system.

The following tips will help you to deal with slow running Chrome:

1-Clear cache. Whenever you end a browsing session make it your habit to clear cache so that all cookies are removed.

2-Clear history. Also clear history from time to time and do not allow URLs to accumulate in your Chrome history files.

3-Get rid of excessive toolbars. Often times there are some heavy plugins and toolbars running with your browser which can make any browser such as Chrome slow.

4-Clean Windows Registry. Fix and clean Windows registry, which is an information storing component of Windows, to fix Google Chrome slow speed.

Follow all the tips that are described above.

It is highly recommended that you repair Windows registry because it not only lets Google Chrome run faster but it also prevents it from crashing.

Some errors in the registry such as the file association errors become the cause of files not opening properly. Google Chrome has also been found to show these errors.

I need help. I don't have proper internet at the moment. I use btopenzone pay as you go thing and it was working fine until 2 days ago it just stopped. In the network connections bit, all other available wireless networks are showing up except my connection.
When I look under "manage connections" my network is listed but I can't connect to it? Any help? :( right now I'm just using my phone and its a right pain :bored:
