Shaun 07-05-2011 03:25 PM

ty Zee and Eoin for the finished entries.

Still nothing from Stu and Locke :bored: or arista

Iceman 07-05-2011 03:27 PM

My production is a bit half assed, I squeezed out all my inspiration in the lyrics, they be very deep and meaningful to me.

Locke. 07-05-2011 03:29 PM

Why does Arista not get a :bored: face :nono:

Shaun 07-05-2011 03:29 PM

I don't think he seriously considered entering  I did PM him but got no reply. Cheeky bitch.

Shaun 07-05-2011 04:10 PM

only 50 minutes left to submit :(

Shaun 07-05-2011 05:04 PM

thanks Stu!

There are 12 Globalvision entries. The running order is as follows:

1. Ireland
2. Vanuatu
3. North Korea
4. South Africa
5. Sweden
6. United Kingdom
7. Australia
8. Canada
9. Wales
10. Libya
11. Finland
12. Kosovo

first entry shall be posted at 8! I'll require Matt, Beastie, Niamh and Iceman to submit their judging scores tonight - preferably before 11pm :) Shall then announce the results at 11. The winner shall receive a little microphone award (as seen under mine and PJ's profiles)

I'll still allow any late entries since there isn't really a lot of work to do as I'd expected.

Iceman 07-05-2011 05:09 PM

I'm going first

Stu 07-05-2011 05:14 PM

So it's down to just a few people? No public voting?

Niamh. 07-05-2011 05:15 PM

Shaun, how do we score them? 1-12 in order of preference or what?

Shaun 07-05-2011 05:16 PM

oh no there's public voting too I just need them in particular :p

the public will vote for their favourite 3 entries. The judges will be ranking all 12.

I think it's a better idea like this, It's more likely to be a fair vote than public voting, public voting would end up being a popularity contest rather than the best song imo

Edit : ok it's both, like the actual Eurovision!

Why would the judge voting be free from such a stigma?

Anyway, alls good now :).

The real Eurovision hasn't used judges votes for years and years, has it? It's all the public now.

They started using judges again last year I think to combat the block voting.

Last year they went back to using a panel of judges plus the public vote as well because of all the vote for your neighbour crap

And I don't know I just think if people are "official judges" they're more likely to take it seriously and be fair (lol at my own seriousness:joker: )

Shaun 07-05-2011 05:22 PM

nah they brought back judges 2 years ago, it's why we managed a high placing 2 years back :p

Stu 07-05-2011 05:26 PM

I was just about to post 'they'll probably bring it back to combat block voting'.

Durr.

Though it's to my understanding that block voting isin't based on countries in the east loving each other - they hate each other - more it's based on the fact that the Estonian entrant could be like a big, mainstream popstar in Latvia and that type of shiz.

Shaun 07-05-2011 05:29 PM

yeah I've never really been keen on the UK blaming poor performance on political voting - the real reason is we've sent shit pop acts that even few of us have heard of, let alone the rest of Europe.

Javine? Gemini? Scooch (I loved that one though, for how ludicrously kitsch it was)?

Vicky. 07-05-2011 05:51 PM

Isnt niamh entering as well as judging? :joker:
