Definitely not. Just how much of the old cast will have to be brought back before EE can sort itself out? Bring in new characters and create a new generation/era for the show, rather than having what we have now (utter shambles of remnants of family units, most of whom are going absolutely nowhere and new characters, such as Sharon, being brought back to swallow pills).

I agree Redway. Returning some classic characters is interesting every few years but they can't rely on them all the time, they need to create new ones if they want the show to continue otherwise the show will have a short life span.

Just went over to Walford Web and DS to see what people think of this and it seems as if a couple of half-decent episodes will save this storyline. Even if tonight's episode is the best thing since sliced bread, it's not going to make up for months and months of total crap.

Don't watch Eastenders, or any soap for that matter unless it's an 'event' episode and so I thought I'd watch a bit of tonight's.

Caught the last fifteen minutes and it was very well written, I liked the twist at the end.

I didn't think it was well written at all.

I mean I know it's only a soap, but that's no excuse for being stupid.

The twist was ridiculous, there's no reason for Kat to ring Max and not Derek. Just to stretch the drama out longer, as if the storyline hasn't dragged on enough. :laugh:

And that shot of Derek lighting up, I cringed. Roll on his death.

Don't know what everyone else was watching - pretty mediocre episode, perhaps slightly better than the norm.

And as for Derek's "dramatic" scene - not dramatic in the slightest and I can't wait for his death now.

It just didn't make sense at all and there were so many inconsistencies.

Such a well produced ep! Except Derek lighting a cig at the end.

Shoulda been Max though... woulda been more interesting. Tanya/Max are dull.

So Derek is the shagger? It was obvious from the start, awful storyline and I cannot wait for the conclusion but this is EastEnders drama at it's best. Good episode tonight!

Well, Max already has another secret coming out over Christmas. That's why it was obviously not him, he has a completely different storyline happening.

Glad it was not Max tbh, he and Kat would have been just wrong and plus Stacey should remain the only Slater he has done it with:D.
