...I would move it a few places up your list, wanna...I think you'll love it...

Alf 20-10-2013 02:31 PM

Holy Motors, didn't really get it (I'm not sure your meant too), but I really enjoyed it, very experimental, which is a good thing.
8/10

Shaun 20-10-2013 02:57 PM

not sure to watch next, have got copies of:

Kick-Ass 2, Despicable Me 2, The Master, Star Trek into Darkness, Only God Forgives, Oblivion, The Place Beyond the Pines, Man of Steel and World War Z

that reminds me, I must get Blue Jasmine and Pacific Rim.

Josy 20-10-2013 03:00 PM

Watch World War Z Shaun, I thought that was really good.

Watched Pacific Rim the other night would give that hmmm 7/10.

Shaun 20-10-2013 03:02 PM

is it gory at all?

Josy 20-10-2013 03:04 PM

Nah not really (what I can remember anyway)

Shaun 20-10-2013 08:53 PM

sorry Josy I ignored you (as usual) and went for Only God Forgives... wish I hadn't tbh

beautifully-shot nonsense. Zero substance, agonisingly slow and just desperate to be seen as broody and tense when there's really just nothing happening

although Kristin Scott-Thomas is good, the parts where there IS action are good, and Thailand is beautiful, so I'll give it a 5/10.

Best Man Down - 6/10

Wasn't to bad actually, maybe a bit slow at times but it got better and had a pretty good story, the cast is relatively unknown although it did have the main guy from Jeepers Creepers in the lead role and he was great in this.

Vanessa 20-10-2013 10:04 PM

Serenity. Amazing movie.

GypsyGoth 20-10-2013 10:41 PM

These are the main movies I watched over the last month

Captain Phillips

At times it felt a bit slow, but I think that was intentional, it's not an action movie, more of a tense drama. The performance of the main pirate is great and Tom Hanks doesn't disappoint 8/10

Blue Jasmine
http://i.imgur.com/fafZrxC.jpg
Cate's performance is enthralling, she's stunningly good in this 9/10

Machete Kills
http://i.imgur.com/VJ64NKK.jpg
It's mindless fun 5/10

Prisoners
http://i.imgur.com/zNYlceD.jpg
Kinda depressing, felt like a bit of an ordeal watching it, but gripping throughout 8/10

Runner Runner
http://i.imgur.com/SnCYEZD.jpg
I like the three main actors, so I thought I would like this more 6/10

How I Live Now
http://i.imgur.com/cUZkU9C.jpg
Good end of the world story, and it wasn't sugar coated 8/10

Riddick
http://i.imgur.com/1rYOtpV.jpg
Meh, it looked great, but the plot kinda meandered 6/10

You're Next

Over the last few years I've become a massive horror fan, this is good in the way it tries to be original and it kinda pokes fun at other horrors in a kinda dead pan way 7/10

Vanessa 20-10-2013 10:43 PM

I love Tom Hanks.

He is always believable no matter what character he plays.

Prometheus - 7/10

a decent enough Sci Fi film which is pretty rare these days, a great performance from Fassbender as well even as a Robot and they ended the film perfectly to set things up for the sequel. The Cesarean scene was disgusting though.

Ammi 21-10-2013 01:16 PM

..After Earth...a slow start but not too bad/corny....7/10....

Jesus. 21-10-2013 01:19 PM

Parklands - it's the story of the JFK assassination, told from the perspective of the medical staff, secret service, and LHO's family.

I really enjoyed it, and thought it was a really good film. It's definitely worth a watch, but it's the kind of film that you'd only ever need or want to see once.

7/10

Spoiler:

..I read something online this morning..(well I didn't read it, I saw the headline..)...which was that Robert Kennedy 'stole' JFK's brain...

Jesus. 21-10-2013 01:28 PM

Yeah, I saw that somewhere too. I think he would have needed a sieve to steal most of it.

Film spoiler

Spoiler:

Half way through him being treated, Jackie hands part of his skull and brains over to a nurse.

The Way Back - More scenery than anything, it was a good film, but there's no alot of 'drama' in it shall we say, it is literally just escaped prisoners finding their way from Siberia to India. Enjoyed it though. 8/10

The Final Destination - Is this franchise meant to be comedy or what? The kind of film you'd expect to see on SyFy along with Sharknado

10 Things I hate About You - Haven't watched this since I was about 15, great film, and this song is great

Ignore that one and watch the fifth one

Vanessa 22-10-2013 05:30 PM

A norvegian horror movie called The Lost. Was great, full of tension. 7/10.

Niamh. 23-10-2013 12:49 PM

The Woman in Black - I'd heard bad reviews about so wasn't expecting much, it was better than I was expecting, not brilliant but it had some creepy moments 6.5/10
