Mock, take over Josy's inbox and not Jessica's thread.

Have you realized yet that noone is agreeing with you? Even those who have openly stated on here that there is problems with the system?

You seem to have a bee in your bonnet about something that you did wrong and got pulled up on. Saying something is a joke doesn't make it a joke. Its unfortunate that your post was taken the wrong way, but as I said before, jokes are best kept between friends...when you add strangers to the mix, some may get offended. It was a clear rule break (I have posted the actual rule in this thread after you accused us of making it up) and it will not be reversed. Plus, it was like 3 months ago. Please just get over it and dont do it again D:

Infraction/1 day ban is nothing at the end of the day

Well i think the best thing to do is to increase the ban time, people aren't too bothered about being banned if it's only for a day, increase it to a week/two/ 30 days and they'll definitely tone it down

If you have a set system people will learn to follow the rules, If someones had a few infractions recently and they're not entirely sure how many points they are away from a ban, sometimes you can just get wound up enough and snap at members, leading to a higher point infraction and thus to a ban, which they wouldn't necessarily have got if they'd have known how many points they were going to get

(am i making sense i honestly just feel like I'm rambling :joker::joker: SEE THIS IS WHAT I MEANT IN THE LOUNGE LAST NIGHT WHEN I SAID I WAS ARTICULATE ENOUGH TO PUT MY POINT ACROSS)

Hmm I don't know if I'm understanding you right but ban times do increase, they increase as the points increase if you get what I mean?

People knew how much they could push it when they knew how much points they had and then stopped to save themselves from a ban.

There is no way at all we can have a set amount of points for every single rule break, that would definitely be unfair as serial rule breakers would be getting the same punishments as people that barely break the rules.

It's not insulting fans if it's a joke though? That's not what you're getting, if 2 or 3 people took offense to it, it still doesn't stop it from being a joke and that it was harshly treated, just like whatever infraction that Jessica feels that she shouldn't have had.

Nah I don't think so, people would stop taking the piss. Remember back when we had the three strikes system which was far more harsh? Noone went on like they do now...

Yeah, and with the new infraction system he would have had one warning and after that one infraction per post afterwards for carrying on the drama, he'd probably in ban land right now instead of persistently derailing the thread

a change is needed

Mock, you were actually REALLY rude during CBB, I blocked you because of your comments about fans of certain housemates. You may have written them in jest but that doesn't mean people will take it as such.

Because that's what opinions are for? Just like you seem to think that the decision was okay.

Let's play along and pretend that it was actually a joke then
Even if it was actually a 'joke' it was still offensive to a lot of people
You were reported for offending a lot of people
You were infracted for offending a lot of people because it was an obvious and clear rule break.

What's hard to understand about that?

No, what i mean is, the current (first) ban time is one day, (which is when you get 9 points iirc?) anyway i think that should be drastically increased, maybe to a week or longer, that way people will tone down the behaviour because they know they're going to get banned for a lot longer than a day, i know when i get banned idgaf, I'm at work 10 hours a day, sleep 8 hours a day, so theres only really a 3/4 hour window where i can't post

So your first ban would be a week @ 9 points
2 weeks @ 15 points
30 days @ 20 points

etc etc

and re; it not being fair to people who don't break the rules, if they're not breaking the rules often, it's likely their infractions will expire before they get infracted again to take them to a ban, whereas people who do it a lot, would be banned for a lot longer for doing the same thing over and over

Jay. 01-04-2015 08:51 PM

Why is this thread going so off topic? :worry:

Ironically though a lot of these people have just said not to carry it over to the this thread (which I will stop with after this post) and a lot of the people that agreed with it have admitted to reporting me on it anyway.

I know of at least 4 to 5 people at the time at least that didn't agree with the overreaction, you're just looking at people on this thread.

But yes the Infraction system needs improving, it needs to not just go with the reporting system and sometimes the Mods step in of their own record sometimes.

Wait, so you are saying you think bans should be stricter?

I suppose something like that could work during off season but not during BB, things get very heated in there and sometimes a one day ban gives members enough time to calm down then they come back and actually discuss things like adults again.

I dont understand this part?

I *think* you are making out we infract based on reports, which is not the case. We receive a report, check out the situation and decide whether a rule has been broken or not.

We also read threads randomly and if we see a rulebreak thats hasn't been reported, we can infract that too/delete/whatevers appropriate

And I felt that you took every post really overly sensitive, not just mine but Josy's too, and Vanessa's.

Btw do you accept my apology that I made to you all those months ago?

I never thought I would see the day members were asking for longer bans tbh

I kinda agree. But if we increased ban lengths, I doubt people would be happy about that either D:

Lots of people do it, I just ignore to an extent but we get some really nasty ones that I do infract for.

Also James is here a hell of a lot more than most seem to think, just because he doesn't post a lot on the main forum doesn't mean he isn't around

If it's for repeat offenders, I don't see why anyone would complain tbh
