I'd rather they recuit wacky people then let people audition and end up with boring people. If you see someone out in public being completely nuts, they'll likely be a lot more entertaining in the house then someone who sits behind their computer all day recording audition tapes for youtube, showing zero interaction with real people.

Well then we get complete car crash people, can only think of cbb examples for that like Liz Jones, Paula Hamilton & Perez Hilton accurately matches your description.

Getting normal everyday people audition means that they're less likely to be trained at being able to keep the pretense going for a few weeks.

The problem nowadays is that they're all either wannabe actors or models so they know how to turn on a performance.

take exception to the "acting" part, that only lasts 48 to 72 hours. I fear BBUK 16 will be vapid drama queens and a sprinkling of ***kwits.

No one from CBB matches my description. People like Perez Hilton know social media, tabloids, etc. I'm talking about random people out on the streets or in the malls or at the bars that are confident, stand out, act a little crazy. Those are the type of people that are interesting. I'd have no problem if they recruited people like that. Or atleast changed the audition process to better bring out those types of people.

Beastie 16-04-2015 03:24 PM

There will be the odd few who auditioned normally. The rest will be recruits.

uniquedude 20-04-2015 03:52 AM

How do people know that bb13/14 was 'full of recruits' can someone tell me where people are getting this from or are they just assuming for all we know all housemates could have auditioned aint that the whole point of them advertising auditions?

I don't know about BB13 or BB14, but the only Housemates that genuinely auditioned last series was Christopher, Marlon, and Tamara.

And let's just say that BB didn't even show Christopher that much, Marlon was only ever shown when he was being a twat, and Tamara was took out first.

If so, it's just ridiculous haha. That "ladies man" persona stunk right from the start. What a flop

Yeah I wouldn't mind it if they found people like that & invited them to audition as long as they in the same process but not straight to the show, that's not fair & BS.

THANK YOU!!! Although this year stuff has gone out of people being asked to be housemates. I swear c5 said that Helen went through the same audition process as everybody else?

Jason. 20-04-2015 09:22 PM

Haven't they had recruits since way back in 2005?

If I remember correctly, Derek, BB6, was recruited.
As well as few others from BB8-11.

I just think on Channel 5, they rely to much on it, and cast over 50% of the housemates as recruits, or in BB15's case, 80%. Whereas, on Channel 4, it was one or two out of about twenty housemates.

Was anyone from BB13 recruited, as they had open auditions?
I heard that every housemate, bar one or two were recruits in BB14, is this true?

I agree with uniquedude, how do we know if these housemates we say are recruited have actually been recruited.
I only know the ones of BB15, who I've heard say they actually auditioned, in radio interviews.

& ive seen some quite good audition tapes, why they don't cast them?

Blog Rider 23-04-2015 05:58 PM

Thing is normal people that you don't know if I would be boring or not until I go in the house :)
