Spoiler:

Sorry for the male slaughter for real, but the male casting this season wasn't great tbh. John without a doubt had the biggest fall from grace for me this season. He started out very dorky and very likeable and his cast bio had great gems such as:

Quote:

Three adjectives that describe you: Ninja-esque, klutz, and eccentric.
Favorite Activities: Playing guitars, lifting, running mud races, and occasionally getting drunk and dominating in a video game with my friends.
Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most: This changes a lot as I get older. Right now, I'm going to avoid saying that I have ever liked anyone because my next sentence would confirm I'm a hypocrite. I hate watching nerdy know-it-alls like Ian, Nicole and Derrick because they let their knowledge of the game turn into hero worship and it's not what I watch the game for.
What are you afraid of: That the ’90s won't come back.
What would you take into the house and why: I would bring a Rubik’s cube to see who was smart enough to figure it out and get rid of them immediately. Also, maybe some shiny objects to distract the other ones, and a dragon.

The thing with Johnny Mac is that despite being a fan favourite there’s really not a lot to say about him. He had occasional kooky moments such as randomly building a cereal box fort in the kitchen and saying random odd comments but otherwise he was pretty much a made up diary room personality. It was so funny when he tried to put his wacky character on when Julie was talking to him in one of the eviction episodes and everyone was just looking at him like “0___o…the ****?” And on that note his eviction speeches weren’t funny at all. They were just really awkward. Joe Arvin you are not. He just tried too hard a lot of the time and if you’re gonna try hard to be hilarious at least 1. Be funny in the first place and 2. Actually be funny when you’re trying (See: Talla Rejaei).

The worst thing about John is the fact he threw so many competitions and we lost so many gems because of him being a puppet. Like I’m honestly a firm believer that you shouldn’t base your opinion on a houseguest through their gameplay but through their character, but for the first time I found myself getting frustrated with John just following what other people wanted to do and losing superiors in the meantime.

To Johns credit he was occasionally dorky fun, moreso in the beginning before you realised how one note he is. I can't really criticise Austin for having an alter-ego when Johnny Macs entire persona was an alter-ego.

So yeah, for somebody who’s perceived as a big character… he’s really not. The thing is if you put all the houseguests personality traits on paper John would probably top 3 at least, but between the forced DRs and being the houses bitch his personality just didn’t match up, so he places here for me.

As if it was a question that Liz was going to be the first of the twins out. I mean Liz definitely made more of an impact on the season but I prefer Julia's low-key snark.

I’ve already gone over the relationship with Austin but why enter a showmance with him when 1. He’s a ****ing ogre and 2. He somehow already has a girlfriend. I really got Alison vibes from her when she was using flirting as a strategy but Austin pretty much shut that down so I think a lot of potential that Liz had was numbed by the showmance.

The one thing that really grinded my gears with Liz is her smarmy eviction votes and goodbye messages, telling Jason “Have fun watching from your moms basement” when… she too lives with her mom? I totally get that Jason was nasty about her too but she pretty much insulted many millenials that can't leave home because of their financial situation and that just grossed me out. Just generally as the season progressed she just made nasty comments about a lot of the houseguests. I mean bitching is totally understandable when you’re stuck in a house with the same people for almost 100 days of course you’re going to find things you hate about them, but a lot of the stuff she said and did was unnecessarily mean, like on Megs eviction week throwing all her stuff around the room.

I mean she had her moments, the twins together were cute and funny but idk, not really enough for me to like them. Sigmund Freud instead of Siegfried and Roy :joker: Walking out of the nomination ceremony is kinda iconic too lol. Like I said earlier I think she definitely has potential but it was floundered by her showmance and being in a position of power throughout the game.

Julia is the -_- to Liz’s ^_^ and has a lot more sense about her, such as having the sense to realise how disgusting Austin is for Liz (although her thoughts change) and straight up calling him shady to his face, I had a lot of hope for her when she actually came into the house. When she went into the house though she became really under the radar and alike to Liz just was just nasty about other houseguests. She had a bit of redemption in her eviction week though by throwing Austins clothes across the room and picking Austin to face off against her in the veto is so dumb but hilarious and started an amazing chain of events so I’m grateful to her for that.

I don’t really have that much else to say about Julia that isn’t already in my write up for Liz and that’s possibly because she didn’t really do that much, so I’ll end it here.

11. Julia
12. Liz
13. Johnny Mac

14. Jeff
15. Steve
16. Jace

I mean I would rank them but I don't think there's any topping LemonJam so just know that Jackie and James would be at the top and Steve, Austin, Jeff, Jace et al would be lurking in the dark depths of the late teens

Didn't watch the season fully, stopped once it reached final 6 but nonetheless...

2. James
3. Jason
4. Da'Vonne
5. Vanessa
6. Audrey
7. Becky
8. Steve
9. Jeff
10. Jackie
11. Shelli
12. Meg
13. Jace
14. Liz
15. Julia
16. Clay
17. Austin

Moderately liked 1-5 and didn't care for/disliked the rest. Wasn't the greatest cast in my opinion, but I also think it was better than some of the recent BBUS casts we've had. The issue for me was that there wasn't anyone I actively wanted to root for, which made it less interesting for me as I couldn't be as invested in the show.

tbh i actually forgotten about him and he didn't give me much of an impression just that he was catty towards the twins  I only care about my top 6 but not too much they wouldn't make my top 30.

Fair enough. One of my favorite things about him was that he was such a superfan and would talk about BBUK and BBCAN on the feeds all the time. He stanned Naeha and Willow too :D I didn't watch a minute of feeds after he left actually, so maybe in hindsight he really was my favourite of the season.

I'm glad he was catty towards the twins. They were awful to him and were useless bitchy castings imo. Plus Jason and Day were the cutest little friendship!

him being a superfan is the only thing i like about him but him and the twins were as bad as each other imo  i probs liked him more if he stuck around.

okay some abbreviated (or not so abbreviated) thoughts on LJ's write ups so far!

Austin: I agree on the low placement but I don't totally hate him anymore? He's just sooooooooooo pathetic that like 10% of the time it wraps around to being funny? Like during Liz's HOH reign when Vanessa had her meltdown in the hammock and was like "I just miss Mel ;_;" and Steve was like "hey Van idk if you knew this but I miss my mom :)" and Austin immediately chimes in "I miss Liz when she's in the DR :(" without a hint of irony :joker::joker::joker: and his final vote comment about The Heart Wants What It Wants did make me chuckle, I'm ashamed to admit. But yeah, the rest of Austin sucks. It's weird though because he actually did well socially in the house despite having so many obvious personality turn offs? His Vanessa groveling is probably one of the best skills one could have on a season like this so that def helps his gameplay in my books.

Jace: Thank God. The less said the better. Bro culture is legitimately one of the worst things ever created. The only good thing he did was pull Steve aside and "campaign" because it was hilarious even though Jace was a huge douche to him. Also, I thought he completely made up Geek Squad Mickey/McGee but then it turns out Austin called Steve that once behind his back? Of course he did.

Steve: I don't really think I have much to say? He's just such an afterthought that I don't really have an opinion on him. Like, he sucks as a winner but only in the context of this final three. I think I prefer him to Ian but is that really an accomplishment? Okay I've had enough of Geek Squad Mickey (although the list on Reddit about all the things he can't do and didn't know is HILARIOUS I need to link it soon)

Jeff: I know most people hate him or don't care but I have a lot of tolerance for him! Everything you said is true, but I just love how Jeff is soooooooooo insecure and full of self-loathing and paranoia and butthurt feelings. Like, his entire first week was just a giant meltdown because Austin said he had a dad bod :joker: and he really was the second most paranoid scheming person after Audrey in the early weeks so I kinda dug it. He also did a hilarious Periscope in the back of a taxi last night bitching about how half of Pre-Jurors were ignored BUT IT'S OKAY BECAUSE PRODUCTION SAID THEY MADE THE SEASON and it was just sooooo desperate I couldn't handle it :joker:

John: I think I made my feelings clear on him throughout the season. I really just don't get the appeal. Like, are we supposed to like him because he's nice (which we're just supposed to assume he is bc he's a str8 white male)? Are we supposed to like him because he's an underdog? I don't get it. He wasn't funny or ANYTHING, he just yelled in the DR in a fake wacky voice and read his scripted lines from the cue cards. And like you said, he didn't have any game, and even though I don't normally care about game, it was just sooooooooo annoying and frustrating to hear him throw yet another Competition. HE LEGITIMATELY WANTED TO THROW THE FINAL FIVE POV WHEN HE WAS NOMINATED JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER TIMES HE THREW COMPETITIONS LITERALLY JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE ASKED HIM TOO WHAT THE **** IS YOUR PROBLEM not to mention crying actual tears over Clelli and all that. No thx.

Liz and Julia: I'm soooooo hear for the twins. Obviously the twin gimmick works in their favor, but I find them cute and fun and funny, both intentionally and unintentionally. Sigmund Freud was legitimately hilarious, and I loooooooooooove the way they speak even though everyone else hated it :joker: I knowwwwwwuuhhhhhhhh / Steeeeeeeeeeevvuhhhhhh / Jameeessssssuhhhhhhhhhh. I was just here for it. I was definitely #TeamLiz over her goodbye message to Jason because holy **** Jason doesn't age well at all and I want his ass out soon. And Julia throwing Austin's clothes around and doing her "I'm Judas" dance was a top 10 moment :joker: I don't know, it's hard to write about the twins because they weren't really about moments, just about the whole being. Julia is definitely the better twin like you said btw.

Yeah like I said Austin wouldn't even touch my bottom 20 and I considered swapping him with Jace because he is so pathetic it gave some funny moments. He could be like Luke Scrase from BB13UK where I hated him at the time but on reflection he's a hilarious human being. For now though I'm just so over him.

I really wanted to like the twins almost solely because of the way they speak :joker: I do honestly think that Liz played a better game and was kinda robbed.

LemonJam 25-09-2015 10:39 AM

Spoiler:

Jason is somebody I should be able to relate to being a working class kid stuck in retail in his mid-20’s (although I’ve moved up in the world and transferred my extensive life skills to bar work) so I was rooting for him a little bit going into the season. So he went through the season being sort of fun but nothing really that memorable. His friendships with Da’ and Meg were pretty cute and his pure hatred for Frankie Grande was hilarious and he gave pretty good confessionals.

But for all the times he called other girls bitch he was really the biggest one, like calling Liz trash even though as far as I know she didn’t have a bad word to say about him until his eviction. In the twin twist calling one twin “fat Beth” as well was really gross. Also saying Audrey was lying about being transgender isn’t really a highlight. Although everyone seemed to love it I had to cringe at “I don’t trust nobody with a damn penis.” Like granted the male casting this season wasn’t great and I’m a strong supporter of feminism myself but it’s just awful to actively avoid men and **** like that is exactly what gives feminists a bad name.

He did feel a bit try hard at times. For example when he said “Me and Da’Vonne aren’t afraid to snatch a wig” but the only time he “snatched a wig” was when the entire house was already ganging up on Audrey anyway. He didn’t say anything when he got blindsided by Vanessa so I’m not really ready to believe that.

So in summary I wasn’t really a Jason fan, which is probably an unpopular opinion but oh well lol. It’s a shame really because he did feel much more ~real~ than most casting we’ve had.

Okay so I really like everybody from here so even though she’s at #9 I still think Meg is fantastic. Who knew that the Meg Griffin of the house would actually be called Meg. It’s just too perfect. Like for example a girls alliance was immediately made without her in it like… did they forget she was there or… :joker: and not necessarily a Meg moment, but it needs to be acknowledged that in the BB Comic book task everybody gets really cool superheroes and Meg gets:

:joker:

As gross as they edited it to be #BBScandal is probably one of my favourite moments of the season because it was so unexpected. One thing they NEED to do in BBUS is to give them more alcohol in general, but especially during comps. The competitions really drag the show sometimes so if you pump some mimosas into their systems and let them get messy it’d be a much better experience (Lydia’s drunken veto meltdown is still so clear in my mind to this day )

But yeah, Meg. I absolutely love her gloriously animated face which was constantly so ^_^. My favourite example of Meg’s ^_^ personality is when Audrey and Da’Vonne (I think?) are having a heated discussion in the HoH room and Meg just bursts in with “There you bitches are!” :joker: Even when she infamously smashed her head in the PoV I noticed she was still smiling immediately afterwards lmao. Being a grandma and being terrible in challenges was kinda amusing, but eventually I was over it. Losing in every single comp just ended up becoming frustrating to me anyway because it just meant that post Becky-HoH felt like only 2 people were really playing for the James/Jackie/Meg trifecta. Also not a fan of Meg’s transphobic comment about Audrey (Jason, John and Meg were discussing whose bed Steve would sleep in because he didn’t want to sleep with a girl, Meg muttered under her breath “sleep with Audrey”. NOT COOL) But to conclude, Meg’s just a very warranted positive presence in the house but essentially she was a non-entity in the grand scheme of things. If Meg were able to realistically make an impact on the game she'd probably be a lot higher (just imagining a Meg HoH makes me feel warm inside idk why) but otherwise Meg is pretty great.

Spoiler:

With the exception of calling Shelli out over the Jason eviction and “Whackstreet boys! Woo! –shakes titties-“ I don’t really remember any Jackie moments except for minor cutesy stuff such as when she came last in the prize swapping PoV and got the veto as her prize and said “Yay I won ^_^” or her time in the knight costume that she won from said PoV and her cute confessional “it’s time for war –lowers visor”- She was so low-key at the beginning of the game but one moment I found out recently is that when Shelli was thinking about sending Audrey home she asked Jackie to bring up people in small groups, but instead Jackie just brings up the entire house except for Audrey :joker: Also after Beckys train story her confessional saying “Someone who can take a train to the face is definitely someone I can see myself aligning with ^_^” is probably one of my favourite confessionals this season.

The James/Jackie/Meg/Becky alliance is glorious together, like Beckys HoH week where whenever Vanessa came in they just lay in the have not room with sunglasses on and giggled together like school kids. She was so loyal to her allies (even Jeff lol ew) and I didn’t like seeing her sad when Jason was leaving :( I feel like Jackie had a lot of potential to be a power player as she was able to create some really good relationships, seemed aware of what was going on in the house and seemed capable in competitions but she just ended up being another victim of Vanessa’s grand scheme.

Overall I like Jackie and I think she has potential as a character but she never really shone in any particular way like the 7 above her. She’s a lovely, classy presence that totally made me question my sexuality but I couldn’t justify ranking her any higher.

ok if u insist :\

7. Clay Honeycutt

Onto the first male I like this season :joker: seriously I actually liked more guys in BB16 than this season and that’s a bit of a weird concept. Anyway I think Clay gets way too much hate across everywhere I’ve seen when he’s really very harmless in comparison to previous alpha males we’ve had. I will put my hands up and fully admit he’s self-entitled but he’s definitely a huge factor into why the pre-jury of BB17 was so good.

Compared to previous self-entitled power couples, I really like Clelli. They weren’t as self-entitled as Jordeff and not as nasty as Brenchel could be (although Brenchel low key <3), falling on his sword for Shelli is actually very cute and something I definitely admire. He also respected Shelli’s no-kissmance whatever the **** that was about. Their first segment together is actually pretty funny when Clay’s like “I’m kind of into the –grits teeth- older women…” and awkwardly starts rambling about animals when Da’ walks past :joker: He’s totally low-key dorky you can tell in his mannerisms and some stuff he says, such as the infamous “Haaaaay Julie ^_^” or writing “prom?” In like smoked salmon or something wearing a cowboy hat and a tie to ask Shelli to prom  after Jason is named replacement nominee where they’re all outside talking **** about Vanessa and Clelli are just there awkwardly with their sunglasses on staring into nothing is so powerful and boss I couldn’t help but love them in that moment.

However, Claudrey > Clelli. Claudrey is absolutely one of my favourite relationships in the house if not my favourite. They seemed to bond really well early in the game and gradually as Audrey keeps doing sketchier and sketchier **** Clay is simultaneously trying to look out for her whilst getting **** from her and trying to keep his cool but ultimately failing. I mean let’s face it pretty much all of us LOVE Audrey but who would genuinely have the patience to deal with her? The fact he and Shelli protected her for so long when she was causing so much **** and even threw them under the bus is just so random but amazing for the drama it caused. It’s hilarious because Clay is only wanting to keep her around because Shelli was good friends with her and he’s just so done with her by like week 2 and I love this whole conversation because it summarises just part of the Claudrey dynamic.
Quote:

Audrey: “Can we have middle-school talk now?”
Clay: “-_- what?”
Audrey: “Who would you want to get out? I would recommend… not me.”
Clay: “O______o”
Audrey: “I feel like I’m the target”
Clay: “You’re here another week because of us and you’re staying because of us?”
Audrey: -continues talking about how he’s condescending her and how they’ve abandoned her-
Clay: “…well if you don’t trust me and Shelli you’re getting targeted ”
Audrey: ;O ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME?!?!

:joker:

They seem to be really good friends on the outside as well which is so random considering how much Audrey hated him. :joker: The mumbling segment genuinely has me in stitches every time. As someone who also mumbles I totally feel his pain. I’m a furless bat will probably be written on my tombstone.

Clay is not without his flaws though obviously otherwise he wouldn’t get as much hate as he does. He definitely was ****ty towards James after he got nominated and eventually got so fed up with Audrey he kept pushing her back into her grave but otherwise he was a great early season “villain” without being a total dick and had a pretty satisfying story arc. Like him or not he was a huge contributing factor towards why the first few weeks of this season were so great.

Grandma Meg <33333 Her losing all her PEEPS was a sad story :(

I love Jackie too but she could have been so much greater. Clay is someone I didn't like when the season was airing but in retrospect is OK (plus he's the only hot guy this season, so that's a bonus)

Vanessa/Audrey for top 2!

Da'Vonne/Audrey !

Don't insult Jason by comparing him to the **** that is Jordan.

LemonJam 25-09-2015 11:47 PM

Spoiler:

I'm sorry Reece and Espeon.

It’s so predictable that Da’Vonne would be TiBB’s favourite lol but in fairness she did definitely deliver. She’s extremely charismatic, brings the drama, is perceptive, had the best confessionals and was an endearing (but not great) strategist. Production clearly really liked her (surprisingly) and she definitely had a chance to become fan favourite, but unfortunately Da’Vonne is Da’Vonne and I don’t mean that in a bad way because she’s great but she totally has the kind of personality that will rarely make it past pre-jury unless you have a sound strategy.

So in the first week where she’s already walking around the house counting stuff and Shelli asks Jeff to check why she’s in the have-not room(?) and when Jeff asks why she’s in there (we all know idk why I’m explaining) and when Jeff asks why she’s in there and she could just so easily say “Oh I’m just looking for something” but instead she just totally calls Clay and Shelli out :joker: As great of a moment it was you could tell from there she wouldn’t last past jury.

She had golden confessionals though and my personal favourite had to be: "I-ii-i-i-i-i WHAT YOU STUTTERING FOR? COS YOUR ASS IS LYING!" She had bags of charisma and was a really good narrator because she added her own flair to it.

The thing is I would’ve loved to see Da’Vonne stay longer because she seemed quite perceptive and wasn’t afraid to blow up other peoples games and call them out, but those same great traits are part of the reason to why she was evicted so soon.

I do think the show portrayed Da’Vonne as a bit of a one note. They didn’t really show her having fun with Jason or the night where Da’Vonne talked about her father and why she puts up a hard exterior, which is actually very endearing to watch (it’s on youtube, I’d recommend).

So yeah as a whole Da’Vonne is a great fun early boot, but that’s essentially all she is because she was doomed from the start. Everyone else in the ranking just lasted longer or had a bigger impact so she places here.

I don’t feel that I truly appreciated James as much as I should have when he was on the season but he just never really clicked with me, but once he was evicted I realised in a season with so much paranoia and what-the-****ery what’s not to love about a small dude going around pranking people in a kitty hat

It’s kind of a shame that the only pranks/silly moments that were shown of James were him jumping out and scaring people because I found out he did a lot more than that (making a fake Audrey :joker: pouring stuff on Steve while he was asleep :joker: making foil people to put on the nomination chairs :joker:) and another awesome moment that’s just so James:

:joker::joker:

James really looked out for any houseguests who were on the outside (such as Audrey and Steve) which I really think was sweet. His relationship with Grandma Meg was more hilarious because of James than Meg too so he gets the credit for that tbh. He never threw fits about being on the block or being betrayed and always had a good attitude towards the game.

But still as much of a nice guy that James was he still wouldn’t take any bull****. Asking Vanessa if she’s been on any narcotics lately  and confronting Clay in the pre-eviction confusion matter even though Clay was on his way out of the door anyway lol. Also the fact that he actually made a big move in putting up Clelli is definitely appreciated (even though I like both of them a shift in power was much needed at this point) He was the only underdog who could really win anything too which was frustrating but probably more frustrating for him.

My thoughts on James really changed when I evaluated his time in the house and realised how brilliant a houseguest he’s been. I probably didn’t take to him because they pushed him so hard for fan favourite (which now I'm actually glad he won lol oops) and a lot of his confessionals felt really forced. However he’s a really fun presence in the house with a great personality and great allies and he’s ranking much higher than I ever expected him to. Unfortunately the people above him are just a bit more epic than he was.

Spoiler:

Again, sorry Reece and Espeon :joker:

Audrey joins the prestigious group of what I like to call “great value houseguests” and joins the group of big messy personalities that don’t last long such as Devin Sheppard, Lori Olsen, Autumn Daly, Amanda Hansen and Ronnie Talbot. Audrey was certainly a HUGE part as to why the pre-jury weeks of BB17 were so incredible. Everybody was excited to see Audrey play but I don’t think anybody expected to see her play as hard as she did. :joker: I can’t speak for everyone but I was really just expecting her to be a rootable, sweet but scrappy strategist… well she was a scrappy strategist for sure :joker:

Her gameplay is actually so hilarious and I didn’t think we’d ever get another Devin but it happened and she didn’t even have to win HoH. Making up that Jason told her he was coming after Shelli so Shelli begins to target him until Audrey admits Jason never said that and accuses Shelli that it was all her idea :joker: like so much of her strategy just made absolutely no sense and she couldn’t just chill and let whatever would happen just happen, even if it was seemingly to her benefit. Another example is after the Da’Vonne/Clay argument she just says to James and Jason in the middle of the night “I’ll be right back” and brings up half the house to the HoH room to make the alliance for them without any of their permission :joker: Apparently she was basing her strategy on her dreams? That being said Audreys gameplay was messy, but the fact she cockroached her way to week 4 because of Shelli and Clay is nothing short of brilliant.

Something else I didn’t expect from Audrey was her sense of humour, which was best displayed in her hatemance with Clay whenever she insulted him. She had some amazing one liners like when talking about sharing a bed with Jeff: “I’d rather **** on my hands and clap” :joker:

HOWEVER, Audrey would have so much potential to be top three but she was insanely extra sometimes, such as making up a rumour that Becky is a racist. Also like I said about Da’Vonne her personality made her pretty much doomed but it can’t be denied that she was one of the stars of the first 4 weeks. Had she lasted the whole time alongside Vanessa I cannot even imagine how messy this season could have been.

There is a small part of me that wanted to put Vanessa as #1 because she is probably the biggest and most memorable character of the season. I don’t mind strategists as long it’s not just a ringleader of a dominant alliance that have no ounces of their personality within them BUT Vanessa definitely isn’t in that category lol. She was so extra about every move she made but I could never help but find it hilarious. A great example is her first confessional about finding out who the HoH is as soon as she enters the house despite the fact she was gonna find out in like 5 minutes anyway :joker:

Vanessa truly began to shine in her first HoH (of course). First when she wants to get James evicted and Austin throws the PoV to Johnny Mac she of course calls him out on it pretty much straight away. In the same week Jeff vs Vanessa is hilarious because at first it’s just meant to be Austin calling out Jeff and he’s just kinda failing so he calls Vanessa in to demolish him. “ARE YOU TRIPPING Oh my God you must be like…silly” :joker: The fact she uses “silly” in an argument and then destroys his game in less than ten seconds is magical. Although I wasn’t a fan of the twins, I like the fact that Vanessa actually took the initiative to get the twins on her side (something I felt like SCREAMING at Da’Vonne)

The Austin/Vanessa dynamic was amazing because although Austin was in a much better position for most of the game he still found himself grovelling to Vanessa for safety on multiple occasions. “You wanna know why [you’re a piece of ****]? Have a seat.” is probably a top ten line for me. Week 5 HoH was glorious and one of the best weeks of the last few seasons (The week where Vanessa considered blindsiding Austin) and her whole conversation where she’s telling him she’s considering backdooring him is great, calling him an idiot and a dumbass while he’s still pleading like a little bitch

The massive misunderstanding between Clay, James, Johnny Mac and herself is a total cluster**** thanks to Vanessa, once again, who’s just misconstruing information and going nuts like… 2 hours before Clays eviction :joker: it’s just so unnecessary.

Then the Becky HoH happened and oh my God I wish Vanessa wasn’t as good of a player as she was because she was absolute GOLD when things are out of her hands. She just spent the whole week scrambling, chasing people and having a breakdown every 5 minutes. She’s entertaining and crazy enough when she’s in power but out of power Vanessa was MAGICAL like talking about her journal entries from ten years ago in her eviction speech is so OTT and beautifully Vanessa

Her argument with Steve was amazing as well “I’d be breathing heavy if I were you too GOODBYE” :joker: she’s just absolutely ruthless on poor Steve who’s still trying to put together what’s just happened and keeps it short and sweet (well not really sweet lol but you get me)

Vanessa’s mist was so fascinating because everybody seemed to trust her and not trust her at the same time. She just felt so necessary to the games of everybody in the final 6 that she could pretty much do whatever she wanted, such as convincing Julia to challenge Austin in the final 6 PoV :joker: She essentially was the cause of breaking up Liztin and you just have to love her for that.

And then she created the best (only?) blindside of the season by evicting Austin, which finishes the story of their alliance perfectly and then evicts John without a hint of irony as Macie beautifully put: "I'm sorry, but if you're willing to go back on an alliance you have had all summer long, that just means that I can't trust you" ---Vanessa Rousso, twenty-four hours after going back on an alliance she had all summer.

The reason why I can’t put Vanessa any higher is because she’s so ridiculous and constantly strategic that after a while she didn’t really feel human and although she was a big character she just didn’t have as many great elements about her as Shelli or Becky IMO. However, I will confess that this is the first season since BB13 that I’ve found genuinely entertaining all the way through and I only have Vanessa to thank for that.

Thanks Pete and Espeon. Here is my final (extremely long) update

Spoiler:

I actually considered ranking Shelli as #1 for a long period of time. Don’t get me wrong, if I was living with Shelli I think she would bug me, but as entertainment value she was absolute GOLD. The great thing about Shelli is that there’s no gimmicks about her, she’s just naturally great television and exactly what you would expect from her. She feels like somebody who would be cast in the Shapiro era of Big Brother (BB1-7) which is most certainly not a bad thing. She’s a season villain without even having to try and act like one because she still probably has in her mind that she’s an angel.

So of course like 99% of America Shelli was lusting after Clay from the minute she walked in and begins working her puma ways on him and from then on they’re totally inseperable. The age gap really doesn’t bother me because like… it shouldn’t matter? I love that she just went for him and totally owned it. Let it be a lesson to us all to follow our hearts~

So in the beginning she’s totally the alpha Zeta, doing insanely cringe but totally fun musicals as the lead role (because you just know that Shelli Poole would never sing backup ) They didn’t stop with the one scene of the show though, Shelli with Jason and Audrey as her minions went around interrogating Steve about starting alliances in song circling around him as if it weren’t totally improvised. :joker: So yeah, I think Shelli was really fun actually, but we didn’t get to see that because she was either with Clay or in power so often.

The typical archetype of a BB series generally begins with the “antagonists” taking control for the first few weeks until the underdogs strike back and the balance of power goes back and forth until one side is totally wiped out. Shelli was this year’s chosen one as the ringleader of the antagonists due to her multiple HoH wins, alpha personality and not giving a ****. Even though the whole house wants Audrey to go due to her sketchy shenanigans Shelli’s just like “lol no”, keeps Audrey because she totally sees her as a sorority sister and gets out Da’Vonne for coming after Clay. I know like 95% of people here are Da’Vonne fans but Da’Vonne did almost immediately want to isolate Shelli from the alliance so it wasn’t a totally bad game move. She did get totally drunk with power though, like telling John not to use the power of veto on himself :joker: the lack of self-awareness is amazing. However John of course does use the PoV and she ends up nominating Meg, her form of competition for Clay :joker:

Her second HoH is just as amazing from the get go as she gets her letter from home from her ****ing DOG. :joker: :joker: :joker: There’s a bunch of people in the room dying to hear from their loved one and she’s just reading out her letter and rubbing salt in the wounds with absolutely no self-awareness :joker: So once again the whole house really wants Audrey out and at this point even Clay is totally done with her, but Shelli is like “nah Jason lol” because of some more rumours that Audrey made up (why is Shelli still believing Audrey at this point? :joker:) but then Audrey herself tries to put the blame on Shelli and she finally is done with her. “That’s a lie and I’m not gonna let you make me believe it.” is the line that totally solidifies that. She then in true Shelli fashion creates a 12 person alliance to get Audrey out but is still crying about having to do it and while Audrey is the one having an anxiety attack, Shelli is still tearfully playing the victim :joker: my God where did they find this queen

So Vanessa’s 2nd HoH comes along and of course the whole plan to backdoor Austin is going on and there is soon to be a huge house flip. Actually nope, maybe not, because Shelli’s just like “nah Jason lol” and yet again the queen gets her way. After most of the house is blindsided by this development and talking **** about Vanessa, Shelli and Clay are just sat with sunglasses on staring into space like it had nothing to do with them :joker: then this amazing bit of conversation happened:
Quote:

Vanessa: “A big majority wanted Jason to go.”
Jackie: (To Shelli) “Are you in that majority?”
Shelli: “…I didn’t want Jason to go”
Vanessa: “o_o you didn’t want Jason to go?”
Shelli: “I don’t wanna see Jason out of this house I don’t want ANYBODY OUT OF THIS HOUSE WHEN SOMEONECOMESATMEANDSAYSDOIWANTJASONTOGONOIDON’TWAN TJASONTOGO!”
Jackie: “:smug:”
:joker:

However, this begins the new era of Shelli that you could totally predict but is nonetheless hugely entertaining.

She makes a deal in the HoH with James that he wouldn’t put them up, so she’s feeling very comfortable until Becky tells Clelli that James is thinking of putting them up, so Clelli make their way up to the HoH room to talk to James (and Shelli assumes her position in the HoH bed :joker:). They throw Austin straight under the bus with no shame but unfortunately it’s not enough as they get nominated, but not without Shelli calling him out during the nomination ceremony and saying “if anybody wants to find out what really happened, I’ll let them know” which is just hilarious because she KNOWS she’s in **** and probably couldn’t explain some fiction on the spot :joker: Immediately after Clay starts going in on James and she starts snapping her fingers and calling him like he’s her dog. :joker: :joker: :joker: Shelli of course immediately continues her stream of obnoxious behaviour by watching her housemates talking outside saying “Aww Vanessa’s talking with them, isn’t that cute?” before walking outside when everyone goes silent and saying “What are y’all talking about? :smug:” :joker: So then she spends the week crying and doing the sword punishment thing and Clay is ready to fall on his sword for her, BUT while Clay was already campaigning to go home, she was STILL campaigning against him :joker: :joker: :joker: of course, this is the sad, sad end of Clelli.

But it’s not the end of Shelli, she spends the next week initially crying but we start to see the fun side of her again. She is still just as hilariously obnoxious, such as picking Vanessa in the PoV when everyone is trying to backdoor her :joker: and her idea of campaigning being that people need to be approaching her. :joker: So of course she’s unanimously evicted.

BUT THEN Jury house Shelli emerges where she’s fake as **** to everyone that emerges and schools Austin when he was being a bitter little bitch over Vanessa kicking him out. Jury house queen

So if you’re still reading this, congratulations, you’ve just read over 1150 words on Shelli Poole and why she is my #2 and even potentially a top 20 houseguest of all time. She’s so, so close to being #1, but Becky ultimately beats her by being Becky.

What I’ve always said about reality tv contestants is that it’s not always about quantity, it’s about quality. Becky may have been on the sidelines but the moments she produced were brilliant. Sure, Becky was a non-factor for most of the Battle of the Block era of the game (I never saw it and I can’t find a video of it which genuinely DISTRESSES me but in week 1 or something apparently she got so pissed off with Jace talking all the time she shushed him), but the Becky HoH was probably the best week of Big Brother as it produced the best of my top three: Vanessa scrambling and being a total mess, Shelli being hilariously obnoxious and entitled and of course, Becky shutting Vanessa DOWN on multiple occasions. I had a gut feeling not to sleep on Becky and I’m so glad I didn’t because in her HoH she was absolutely GLORIOUS. Having ****ing SPROUTS as her HoH food  drunkenly giggling to herself on the bed while Vanessa is campaigning for her ass  Straight up telling Vanessa “I am DONE with deals” was such a glorious, frank and pretty unexpected moment and I loved every second of it while Vanessa was just like “O_O… oh, okay” Vanessa is a fantastic arguer because she can throw 7000 words in 10 seconds, but the fact that Becky can just get Vanessa to shut up and look doe-eyed at her while she tears her a new one is a GLORIOUS sight to behold. Also, Vanessa walked in on Becky and Jackie having a conversation and Becky just plainly said “we’re planning your funeral ^_^” :joker: Apparently she also called Liz a coward because she couldn’t tell her she was going up Becky has ~no fear~

She did warn us however with possibly the quote of the season: “I’ve worked black Friday, I know how to deal with Vanessa”

She had such a positive attitude about everything as well like when the BB comic made light of her getting hit by a train she was just like “I’m glad they’ve taken my tragedy and made it into something humorous :hee:” :joker: The “by the way guys I took a train to the face” story is amazing BUT let’s not forget that she also took a bat to the face when it flew into her car and a dime to the head that someone dropped from a free fall ride at an amusement park. :joker:

Also, she managed to play both sides and never got called up on it? Honestly I think Becky has a lot going for her as a player and if she was able to cool down how much of a competitor she was she could’ve gone further in the game… but at the same time, I love that she threw herself into every competition and always played to win (I cannot tell you how much I roll my eyes when houseguests smarmily talk about how wise they are throwing the competitions like I’m so over it.) Jasons eviction week where she lost 3 comps in a row and she was legitimately upset about it was kinda gut wrenching to watch :( And her final veto where she snatched the pile of names out of Austins grasp without giving a single **** was amazing.

Becky and Johns friendship was pretty sweet as well as they were definitely the two most normal in the house (no matter how wacky John is in the DR let’s face it he’s very normal). She also seemed to be close with Jackie but we never really saw that on the show :( Steve however can **** off with his irrational hatred of Becky. Apparently Becky actually loves Steve and ended voting for him to win. **** you Steve.

In the jury house we still get some glorious glimpses of Becky drinking wine/asking for wine and reminding everybody how she was the only one that came after Vanessa.

#BasicBecky is something I can totally live with. In a Grodner era of Big Brother where ridiculous staples of caricatures are thrown at us every season it’s so refreshing to have somebody as normal as Becky. She’s somebody you can naturally root for because she’s so down to earth and so relatable, but at the same time she’s not afraid to speak her mind when she needs to and get her hands dirty. I hope they cast more people like Becky in the future because she was the star of the season for me.
