It was originally about whether or not President Trump was still gonna build that wall, but it wandered offtopic to the whole "kids in cages" thing, and parmnion felt he was swimming against the tide and wants the whole thread deleted.

when you print words and display them to the world, people will take their own interpretations. That's how words work. The Trump family are well aware of this, they knew exactly how it would be interpreted. To add an explanation for it later is just plain silly. Why display the words if it needs an explanation to go with it

Actually they weren't, that's straight up misinformation you are spreading there.

Child separation only occurred in cases of suspected smuggling or abuse. Only a handful of kids were seperated from their accompanying adults on a yearly basis. Not thousands in a matter of months.

I'm quite tired of people relying on falsities to defend this situation.

Why listen to facts that people don't want to hear when they find fairy tales spun to them by the likes of Trump and other people that tell them what they want to hear more appealing?

I don't think many people would 'have the balls' to enforce state sanctioned child abuse tbh.

Obama's approach had issues, it wasn't perfect but it didn't infringe on human rights or traumatise children. Trump wanted to 'get one over' on Obama by trying to scrap his policies and in turn created a barbaric new system that, judging by the hollow executive order, he isn't too fussed about fixing.

My guess on the meaning of the jacket is that yesterday, actor Peter Fonda tweeted about kidnapping her 12 year old son and locking him in a cage with paedophiles to be raped and the media was silent, unlike they were when Trump supporter Roseanne compared a woman to a character from a film.

So I think that Trump saying the message was aimed at the media sounds plausible. But if you know that they're fairy tales, then that's ok with me.
