It says on Wikipedia Biggins' comments were aired and people complained to Ofcom, but the complaints were rejected.

Quote:

He was removed from the house on Day 9 after making offensive comments.[14] Forty-four people complained to Ofcom about comments Biggins made about bisexuals, but Ofcom ruled that although the comments could cause offence, they were likely to be within the audience's expectations, and his comments were therefore found not to be in breach of broadcasting rules.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebr...8_(UK)#Summary

The difference in reactions with Biggins to Lewis is that Biggins was only in the house for 9 days rather than 7 weeks, wasn't removed with only a week to go, and wasn't the favourite to win. And it is Celebrity rather than normal Big Brother.

Also Biggins' comments were apparently aired, but I don't remember because I couldn't have watched that series all that much, or been that interested in it.

I don't remember them airing Biggins comments either. :suspect:

I'm confused  , i got the impression they DID air it . Are you sure it wasn't one of those flashbacks?? where they show a clip of what happened previously?.

Which is what we SHOULD of had with Lewis :nono: .

James 01-11-2018 12:53 PM

It might have one of these things where he had what he said, repeated back to him in the diary room.

Some of what biggins said was aired some not. The aids stuff was certainly shown, because there was quite a persistent build up from him on that, he did get a formal warning before getting booted as i recall.

Yeah I remember clips being shown, one with Katie being upset about what he just said. Maybe they were shown on BOTS and not the main show but something was definitely aired.

true. I just bought a book that he recommended to read which helped him through certain things! listening to his uncensored instagram ramblings is actually hypnotising and kind of glad now that he left as he did or we may not have had the chance to see them if he was wrapped up in his BB crown he would have most likely won. everything happens for a reason etc :hee:

Good riddance to bad rubbish!
Stockton branch of EDL has found its new spokesman

Most certainly isn't mother teresa, and has not vouched to love 'all people', instead that he is a loving person and tries to seek the beauty in people - however has been open about his existential depression on his instagram and how he despairs at society so in turns makes him resent the way most people carry themselves. It's a catch 22 situation and I sympathise completely with how he feels/treats people.

Did you really buy the book, I am thinking of it, I have many of the same and have enjoyed the contents. Was it the one displayed?

I agree with you re the money and winning, the instagram was brilliant, he looked really nervous to begin with but I do believe he settled down a bit. It was a brave thing to do in the circumstances but I feel it will do him nothing but good. So many writing to him, the trolls he handled very well. Loved mum in the background..

I listened to half last evening and the rest this morning, he still said it as it is in his eyes, he was still himself. Good luck to him..

He also knows his own faults which many people do not ...

Amy Jade 01-11-2018 02:14 PM

I don't remember Biggin's comments being aired either.

But he was favourite to win when he went because I remember people being quite happy the obvious winner was gone. I also remember nobody really defended him but as GoldHeart mentioned he and Lewis are physically very different :suspect:

Kazanne 01-11-2018 02:26 PM

If I recall, Biggins was on a lot of the morning shows etc explaining what he said,so it was no secret and he also didn't mean any offence. He made a comment about Nazi concentration camps and AIDS .

'ask and it is given' by Esther and Jerry Hicks, he spoke highly of it and i'm skeptical of self-help books but I thought i'd give it a go

I think that's mostly the reason why the reaction is different  .
Yes other factors play apart like the fact that Biggins was a celebrity , and he didn't get thrown out a week before the final etc . But looks play apart aswell  .

bots 01-11-2018 02:34 PM

no-one has spelt out the real reason yet

- he was a prize tit

Jake. 01-11-2018 02:40 PM

Biggins’ comments to Katie regarding the concentration camps were not aired. His comments about AIDS/bisexuals were.

I'm wondering if the knee jerk reaction to this is because of the Pittsburgh shooting, which I think happened the same day.

The guy said "all jews must die" while he shot 11 of them dead. Lewis didn't know this but he couldn't have picked a worse time to do a piss poor impression of Adolf.
