Anybody that uses this as an excuse to not take climate change is a fool that's just looking for a reason to deny reality. Let's see how seriously they'll take it when they're drowning. |

Taking climate change seriously, and finding those people idiotic and a waste of time aren't mutually exclusive. |

Bring out the water cannons tbh.
why should people get stranded and possibly lose their holidays just to make a point no-one is listening to? |
Climate change is a huge issue that needs addressing, quickly. However, this seems to be ill thought out, why start a protest when parliament are on an Easter break. If they were sitting they could be forced to debate it if the protests were bringing London to a stand still but whilst politicians are enjoying their fiddled expenses at their country retreats, all they are thinking is thank **** we're not in London.

Only 4 Children left
all the others walked away as they did not fancy getting locked up at a Police Station. They are on Private land and will be soon arrested There are a couple of Adult observers , making notes with their orange clothing. Glad they haven't been able to disrupt peoples hard earned holidays, that is not going to endear them to anybody

Also we are not in a Emergency

Also, I kind of think, even if every person in this country stopped travel, stopped using plastic, stopped using aerosols and that, it wouldn't even slightly dent whats coming. So you can disrupt UK peoples lives all you want, it won't make even a tiny bit of difference when the rest of the world goes on as normal. I genuinely think we are just ****ed regardless, as china and such are not going to stop, and anywhere else is totally a drop in the (rising) ocean without those joining in. I am finding the photos of all the protestors rubbish funny in a way though. Especially when they are doing graffitti with aerosol, many seem to be keeping their stuff in plastic bags and using disposable water bottles, that kind of thing, which they then seem to be just dumping on the streets rather than even using a bin! So, surely, they cannot expect everyone lse to change when they seem to refuse to, when they are meant to be more passionate about this stuff than others! TLDR; Its kind of past the point of no return with global warming. And noone will ever get anywhere while china and such keep pumping so much crap into the atmosphere. Pessimistic, yeah, but realistic. I figure we will blow ourselves up with nukes or something long before global warming reaches its peak. Humans are self destructive creatures. And we want to take the world down with us. Also not sure how true this is as havent searched yet, but apparently one of the worst things you can ever do for the environment is reproduce... Can just imagine the reactions if we did take on a 'one/no children' limit D: |

The thing is.They’re targeting the wrong government.
Carbon emissions in the UK are 38% lower than they were in 1990. That’s a fall from around 600 million tonnes of CO2 (MtCO2) in 1990 to around 367MtCO2 two years ago, according to new analysis by Carbon Brief. The decline is largely due to a cleaner electricity mix based on gas and renewables instead of coal as well as falling energy demand across homes, businesses and industry. UK greenhouse gas emissions down 2.5 percent as renewables hit record LONDON (Reuters) - Britain’s greenhouse gas emissions fell 2.5 percent in 2018, dropping for a sixth straight year but more slowly than before, as record output of renewable power ate away at coal-fired generation, government data showed on Thursday. Analysis: UK carbon emissions in 2017 fell to levels last seen in 1890 Carbon Brief analysis shows the UK’s CO2 emissions from fossil fuels fell by 2.6% in 2017, driven by a 19% decline in coal use. This follows on the heels of a larger 5.8% drop in CO2 in 2016, which saw a record 52% drop in coal use. The UK’s total CO2 emissions are currently 38% below 1990 levels and are now as low as emissions were back in 1890. They’re also targeting British people who recycle and do a lot more than people in many other countries. All they’re doing is pissing off the wrong people. |
