I hope you can show the same enthusiasm for our Rugby League lads as they play in the World Cup in a few months time.

Well done to the girls, but it was only the Euro's, it's not as if it was a World championships.

MBE's yes. But no need for any Damehoods.

The Lionesses brought it home!!!! The men need to take a leaf out of their book, leave the ego at home and play the game!!!!!

"I think Chloe Kelly has just given one of the finest interviews ever put on BBC TV. She screamed something incomprehensible, began singing Sweet Caroline and then ran off with the microphone."

Arista, the sexism and misogyny you have displayed today is actually disgraceful. I'm ashamed to share a forum with you today.

They've already received more promotion of their game in the short time it's been going then a lot of other sports have in over 100 years.

TV viewers will watch whatever's put in front of them and promoted to watch. It all comes down to promotion of an event. That's why many won't care if there's a Rugby League World cup in a few months time. Yet us in the Rugby League community are looking forward to it just like any major sporting championships.

This women's team would probably get hammered by a mens pub team, but because it's promoted, people want it.

Maybe I sound miserable, but I don't care, I just find it all fake.

So many clubs have shot themselves in the foot by not allowing the games to be played at their stadiums.....sponsors not wanting to be part of it and then this happens. Love it

Rugby league is a dreadful game, though.

It wouldn't be if it was on the front and back pages of the newspapers and on all your national TV shows. You'd all be watching, just like you watched some average football over the past month.

The Slim Reaper 31-07-2022 07:12 PM

I don't get why it has to be a competition? Rugby have their followers, women theirs. I like football, not a big fan of rugby but if England win the Rugby League World Cup, I will congratulate them and celebrate their win.

You don't sound miserable, a bit bitter maybe by diminishing the women by saying a pub team would beat them whilst wanting people to support england in the rugby?

Just a bit sad that so many men are trying to put the ladies down, on here and on socials.

I actually did wish them luck and congratulated them on winning. And it's not the footballing girls that my criticism is aimed at. It's the media and how they promote certain things compared to others.

Even American Football gets better promotion in this country than Rugby League.

bots 31-07-2022 07:35 PM

everything has it's time. Personally, i think womens football will take a long time, if ever before it gets to a similar situation as say womens tennis.
