Manchester City have signed Croatia midfielder Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea for an initial £25m.

The deal for the 29-year-old is also worth a possible £5m in add-ons and he has signed a four-year contract.

Kovacic is City's first signing of the summer after they won the Treble of Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup titles last season.

"This is a brilliant move for me, and I cannot wait to get started with City," said Kovacic.

Arsenal have made a third bid for West Ham's Declan Rice worth £105m, which, if accepted, would make him the most expensive British player ever.

The deal breaks down as a £100m initial fee, plus £5m in performance-related add-ons.

David de Gea reportedly signed a contract extension with Manchester United before the club pulled out of the agreement and made a significantly lower offer to the Spain goalkeeper, whose future at Old Trafford is now under a heavy cloud.

------------------------------------------------

They need to get rid of the owners and board asap

West Ham have not immediately accepted Arsenal's £105m bid for Declan Rice, according to the Daily Mail.

Sky Sports News understands the deal breaks down as a £100m initial fee, plus £5m in performance-related add-ons.

But the Daily Mail claim the Hammers want the guaranteed portion of the fee paid by the start of 2025, preferably in two instalments, with Arsenal wanting to pay the fee over a five-year period.

It is understood Arsenal will continue negotiations with the Irons today over the structure of the deal for Rice

Crimson Dynamo 28-06-2023 10:38 AM

Man City pull out of Rice transfer

I don't think it was that we couldn't afford him bit was unwilling to do so, FSG don't like spending huge amounts unless they bring in huge amounts

MLS commissioner Don Garber says an announcement will be made 'soon' regarding Lionel Messi's move to Inter Miami.

Hopefully they are loaning him back to my beloved Barca for 12 months
