Big Brother 5 ended in the 6th of August and the Olympic in 2004 started in the August of 13th, so no it did not compete with Olympics, as it started after BB5 ended, here is the link to 2004 olympics and BB5 link of when it ended.

BB7 had to suffer with the world cup for over 30 days, than just after world cup finished, a week later it had Love Ireland and suffered till the the final week when Love ireland finished, than it also had that Sky+, and still managed to do great with the ratings, had it not been for those, BB7 would of done better than BB5 and even BB3.

Well, anyways, the ratings mean absolutely nothing ! :thumbs:

If I remember correctly the World Cup matches didn't clash that much with BB7, especially the England matches. And Love Island was crap wasn't it? I didn't think anyone watched that show anyway.

Of course it did, and it still succeeded, Love Ireland did well during BB6, so obviously it was a big competition for Big Brother. BB5 should of done even more better with the ratings because it didn't face a stiff competition like BB7, and only still managed to get 700,000 more viewers than BB7, when it had the the chance to score even higher.

But BB7 wasn't more watched than BB5, deal with it ! :bigsmile:

Thats absolute rubbish! As a lot of people had said forum's popular opinions usually account for nothing!

If rating mean nothing, then there is absolutley no way to judge popularity. Unless you want me to wave the Radiotimes and heatworld polls in your face!

It doesn't mean anything too you know. We don't know how manay persons voted and it doesn't show what the British public thinks overall.

But in ratings BB7 got only 700,000 less viewers than BB5. And as I've said Celebrity Love Island, Sky+ and the World Cup are all stiff competition.

All I can say is that if BB7 had none of those then there would have been a lot highere ratings.

And Billy, shut up! BB7 can hardly be one of the least popular- 3rd highest ratings, and gets alot of tops in the magazine polls (they're more important than pathetic forum polls which usually go to a max. of like 40 people).

It's not pointless as it's true, and BB7 wasn't the only series to be on newspapers you know.
You don't know if BB7 would have done better, there is no proofs of that, if BB7 didn't get more ratings it's for a good reasons, why don't you accept it ?

Fine. Here are the facts. BB5 got higher ratings, probably meaning it was more popular. One thing no-one can deny was that BB7 was still a massive success and is considered one of the best.
