yeah get what your saying no such thing as bad media

I've finished Breaking Dawn! I'm slightly dissapointed that it took me 2 days, with the others my times were getting better with each one.

And now my full thoughts on it.

[spoil]I loved it, I'm not sure if it's my favourite but I kinda see it differently to the other 3? Like the first three was it's own trilogy while BD was it's own story? I dunno if that makes much sense.

As I said before I loved Jacob's book, I wouldn't be averse to a spin off book with him as the central character (Stephenie Meyer only ruled out future Twilight books with Bella as the main character). I really liked Leah and hope that her and Seth get good parts in the film, although I don't think they will since I can see Jacob's part being condensced considerably.

The end chapters was TENSE! I loved how Bella became the most powerful vampire in that situation although narrative wise it was predictable it was very gratifying. I really liked the introduction of the other vampires too (Benjamin and Zafrina in particular) and I was almost saddened that there wasn't a fight sequence, seeing some of the vampires and their powers in battle could have made an amazing action sequence.

I loved the bit at the end when Bella learnt to control her powers completely and let Edward in.

The only thing that springs to mind that I didn't like was the lack of Alice, compared to the previous books she was hardly in it. Apart from that I really enjoyed it. I can't wait for the film now. [/spoil]

:cheer2: so glad you liked it
[spoil] i agree the first 3 do kind of seem like a triology, i love the other vamps coming in although would have been nice to know more about their backgrounds, the almost fight was a bit of a let down cos a fight would have been good but on the other hand i'm glad that none of my fav characters were lost, i cried reading bd a few times one of them being when alice and jasper left and another when bella was able to let edward into her head
i agree i think jacobs part could be shrunk down in the film [/spoil]

BigSister 06-07-2009 11:42 AM

[spoil]Yeah i agree there wasnt enough Alice in it for me either but apart from that it was great. Glad you liked it though[/spoil]

Tom4784 06-07-2009 12:04 PM

[spoil] I reckon in the film they'll have a fight, talking can suit a book but it'd be a horrible anti-climax for a film. I don't think anyone will be killed off but I can see them putting a fight in to make it more vissually interesting.[/spoil]

pinkmichk 06-07-2009 12:22 PM

its quite possible given that in new moon film there is going to be more edward than the book [spoil] as a vision in bellas head rather than just voices [/spoil]

pinkmichk 10-07-2009 11:52 PM

[spoil] i thought stephenie meyers writing of breaking dawn was highly sexually charged but i've just read a fanfic story which is the lead up to the wedding and honeymoon where edward & bella take "babysteps" so that the wedding night isnt a huge shock for them both its made even me blush and i'm very opened minded [/spoil]

DrunkerThanMoses 12-07-2009 04:01 PM

Ive nearly finshed the last one...... 150 pages to go....... lol, i kinda ruined the story for my friends who are reading them!

pinkmichk 12-07-2009 04:06 PM

what do you think of them? i've introduced 3 friends to the saga and i hate them not being at same place as me i tend to just talk twilight with them cos they have all at least read that so i dont spoil it

MrGaryy 13-07-2009 03:39 AM

I think they will definitely have to add a fight scene at the end of New Moon. Otherwise it would get panned as anti climatic and irrelevant. Personally I really didn't like how New Moon ended but still liked the book because of the period where Edward is gone and we find out all about Jacob.

I'm almost finished re reading Eclipse. I forgot how much I love it, damn it is going to be one EPIC movie.

MrGaryy 13-07-2009 03:41 AM

also a note to anyone who is behind - DO NOT READ THE SPOILERS. seriously you will regret it SO much afterwards. by the time I got to BD i knew so much about it, though in my defense, all by accident.

pinkmichk 13-07-2009 07:58 AM

there is going to be another full length trailer of new moon released at the comic con on jul 24th i think i'm hoping they show some volturi and wolf pack action

BigSister 13-07-2009 11:16 AM

Yay thanks for that. I thought that the first 1 was a bit short

some breaking dawn film info sorry its a little long
[spoil]
It all started back in November, when Twilight was released and The Twilight Saga: New Moon was announced, fans were thrilled about New Moon; then, when The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was not only officially going to be made, but had a release date set in stone, dreams of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn were running free in the minds of many.

Now, months down the road (as The Twilight Saga: New Moon's release date draws nearer), there is still no official confirmation that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will come to be (that is, Summit Entertainment has not solidly declared its intentions to make the film, and until we get that sort of word, it is not official).

The talk of Breaking Dawn, however, has yet to cease, and likely will not until we know one way or the other.

That said, here is a shortened re-cap of what we have seen commence over the last few months with regard to this yet-unannounced project.

First, back when Remember Me star Robert Pattinson was walking the red carpet to present at the Academy Awards, he was interviewed and stated that he expected to film Breaking Dawn. This got us to talking about what some of the obstacles to filming could be that would stand in the way of bringing this project to fruition - namely, Renesmee

Then, in April, Dominic Patten at TheWrap.com stated that he received insider information telling us that Breaking Dawn was indeed a "go" for filming Not too long after that story was released, we saw the rise of a German reality TV show called "Mission Hollywood" that promised a spot on the Twilight series to the winner (of twelve contestants) of the challenges on the show. Looking at the women selected for the show, we then analyzed what parts - by looking at the book series - they'd be suitable for It was concluded that they'd be befitting, very easily, for a role in Breaking Dawn as opposed to the others - but that was pure speculation, of course.

So, we got to talking - who would be good for a part in Breaking Dawn? A couple of small fangroups were already starting to formulate - one suggesting that Ryan Reynolds should play Garrett in the series, and another suggesting Isla Fisher should be Kate.

Meanwhile, on IMDb, the status of the project had shifted - going from "optioned property" to "script." Of course, it held no official significance, but it was still a mouth-watering occurrence.

Then, Robert Pattinson's schedule got to be a bit busy. That said, the question was raised whether Robert Pattinson would even be available to play Edward Cullen if Breaking Dawn went to film. Concerns were heavy about that issue, until Pattinson spoke with The Hollywood Reporter while at Cannes and said he was committed to seeing the series' ending come to film-life.

So, we got to talking again about how the film would or should be cast if and when it comes into casting. Many had severe opinions about how their favorite characters should look in that discussion.

Then, speaking of looks, a photoshoot of The Runaways star Kristen Stewart surfaced, giving us a great idea of what she'd look like as a vampire in the hypothetical film.Stewart had already stated that she was in for all four films.

Enter Ashley Greene to throw gas on the flames. She indicated, in an interview back in June, that there will be four movies. Then, when I spoke with Peter Facinelli, he said that he was certainly game for Breaking Dawn as well.

In the words of Bella Swan in New Moon, "[t]ime passes. Even when it seems impossible." In the passing time, there has still been no word for Breaking Dawn. So, we had a discussion about a potential alternative to making the fourth film while still bringing one of his most beloved scenes, the wedding, to cinematic light .It may be a bit euphemistic to say that fans were simply not pleased with the notion.

That said, we moved right along, looking on to some of the fan-made posters for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn that brought some of the feel of the story to life and served as a spot of encouragement for its eventuality. We also looked at some of the potential Renesmees out there and many fans were in awe of the lovely children who captured the essence and look of the character.

Most recently, Christopher Heyerdahl, who portrays Marcus in New Moon, stated that he was indeed contracted for the fourth film . Like the others, though, his words only serve to satiate our thirst for information about the status of this picture temporarily.

So, that's basically it. That's what has happened in the past few months with regard to Breaking Dawn. While the actors are certainly on board, there remains no confirmation that it will be made. Chances are, some serious decision-making will have to be done on the issue of whether to make Breaking Dawn into a film.

On the one hand, the studio probably knows that fans want to see it made; on the other hand, it will be an extremely arduous task. Casting and length alone will be tricky, but Renesmee particularly will be a difficult being to bring to life. Not only will she be difficult to cast (in multiple stages, but especially as a baby), but the process of her conception and birth will be difficult to portray as well.

That said, hope is not lost. Even though the film has not been announced, word has also not come down the pike that it will not be made. Just as we can't be sure that it will be done, we are also not sure that it won't. Like many commentators on this column have suggested, with the on-coming success of The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the temptation to not make the film might be sharply contrasted with the potential profitability of it. Fans also seem quite willing to see the final chapter of the saga become a two-part film - much like Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows has become - and this may serve to bolster any willingness to do the film as well.

In any case, absent official confirmation, all we have is this - a saga of insinuation by so many.
