Ivan Turina, goalkeeper for Swedish club AIK, has died at the age of 32.
The Croatian is thought to have passed away in his sleep on Wednesday night, with no suspicious circumstances.
AIK chairman Johan Segui said: "We knew that he had a congenital heart problem but he was completely healthy."
Turina, who won one cap for Croatia seven years ago in a friendly against Hong Kong, joined AIK from Dinamo Zagreb in 2010 and went on to make 89 appearances, keeping 35 clean sheets.
He also previously had spells with Greek side Skoda Xanthi and Lech Poznan of Poland.
A club statement said: "AIK Football thoughts go out to Ivan's partner and two daughters and his other relatives and friends.
"AIK Football has informed the team and other employees about what happened.
"We ask all to respect all parties and allow them to mourn in peace."
Turina had agreed a new contract until 2016 with the club during their pre-season trip to the Unites States in February.
His wife is expecting the couple's third child.

Poor guy, suppose he went in the best way possible though

R.I.P. 32 is a ridiculous age to die.

:joker:

I imagine this fair play award will be mentioned on the cover of their season review.

Drew. 02-05-2013 02:58 PM

No, the biggest club from Manchester will be winning it again next year. There will be no stopping Roberto and Yaya.

Not sure, the second placed country in the fair play league will get offered it probably. Which at the minute is Croatia, I think.

Drew. 02-05-2013 03:01 PM

I doubt they'll be any stopping us, tbh.

Ashley Young will have the season of a life time.
Fletcher will be like a new signing.
Scholes and Giggs can go on for ten years.
Anderson will finally step up.
Cleverley will stop shatting his pants when it comes to passing the ball forward.

John Terry the Dad. To be revealed on The Jeremy Kyle Show. Mark my words.

King Gizzard 02-05-2013 05:13 PM

isn't the fair play thing just to get put into a hat with different countries? we had that one year but didn't win in the draw, I'd assume it would go to the second most fair play team in the premier league

BBfanUSA 02-05-2013 09:26 PM

US MLS Club Portland Timbers played a scrimmage against a 8 year old cancer patient's Team. The kids won 10-9.

King Gizzard 02-05-2013 09:32 PM

that luiz goal was sensational

Novo 02-05-2013 09:37 PM

Much better in Midfield then Defence, he just seems more aware of everything around him when he's in midfield, If Chelsea and Bayern both win then the Super cup should be Amazing

King Gizzard 02-05-2013 09:40 PM

hmm didn't think of that, silver lining to Bayern winning I suppose

but English clubs don't tend to give a **** about that, can remember United Zenit then Chelsea Atletico but then again that was just due to Falcao being exceptional

Drew. 02-05-2013 09:55 PM

cant wait for saturdays championship games.. so much to be decided on the final day

King Gizzard 02-05-2013 10:02 PM

I will be glad when this season's over, short break from football then the u21's

King Gizzard 02-05-2013 10:04 PM

transfer/manager news over the summer is probably even more exciting then the football itself

Novo 02-05-2013 10:07 PM

Didn't realise that Wolves are basically as good as relegated, the Glory days of Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis are long gone
