The Quatermass Xperiment (1955). Oh, I do love an old B&W Science Fiction... I'm giving it a 7.5/10

The Do Over - I enjoyed it, I love Adam Sandler I don't care what people think :hee: 7/10

Got around to seeing Spectre today.

Enjoyed it a lot and appreciated the Bond theme a lot more in context of the film... Waltz is always excellent and the sequences were almost all enjoyable. Only thing I'd criticise is the overuse of pointless steamy scenes but then it is Bond... didn't enjoy it as much as Skyfall so a 8/10 from me.

Ammi 19-09-2016 04:42 AM

..The Martian...an amazing performance from Matt Damon.....I'm really coming to like him a lot as an actor...the movie kept the tension right through and I could hardly breathe in the final scenes...

Spoiler:

..I honestly thought that he wasn't going to make it...

..a great cast, a great movie and a great 9/10......

The only movie he did that I liked was The Wedding Singer. Now I though that was brilliant. :hee:

High Tension - 8/10

A great french horror film. Full of suspense, it's quite similar to Wolf Creek actually. Although the twist at the end was a mess.

I started watching this with extremely low expectations having not been a fan of any of Rob Zombie's previous movies.

The premise is that a group of carnival workers are ambushed released into a huge trashed building and forced to play a game in which they are hunted down by killers for 12 hours - should they survive they are free.

What follows is a gore-fest, with skulls smashed in with bats, slit throats, chainsaw decapitations and people being gutted.

I found it quite fun, it's nothing ground breaking but I enjoyed a few characters but they had little depth. The gore is extreme and some overacting from the cast detracts but overall it was a fun concept and it's always great to see Meg Foster in a film.

Jason Bourne. I Love Matt Damon as an action hero and it didn't disappoint. Hope they make more, because I have so much fun watching them. Perfect escapism :hee: 8/10 Matt :flowers:

Just watched Money Monster. It's a nice one, lacks a bit of credibility at one point, but harmless. :spin:

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 24-09-2016 05:16 PM

At first sight. Omg such a beautiful movie. And it's a true story. Crying so hard:bawling:

Ammi 25-09-2016 06:59 AM

..I watched a movie called Out of Order..I think it was one of those made for TV movies but actually really quite good, very dark in exploring the damage in people from childhood and how it destroys so many relationships../that trust gone forever...also really lovely to see Felicity Hoffman in a role when she was much younger and what a great actress she is and always was..I hadn't really seen her much before Desperate Housewives....7/10 I think.....

Waffle Street - Enjoyable enough 6.5/10

Life is Beautiful (1998) - So sad but hilarious, loved it. Cant believe this film went so un-noticed all these years - 5/5

A group of friends on their way to football game decide to stop off at a diner and ask for directions after getting lost. Not long after they realize one of the girls has lost her phone and after calling they find a kind stranger has found it and arrange pick up in a local town.

When night arrives the group find that all is not what it seems and the town is filled with insane killers all dressed as clowns and they stalk the friends one by one.

Ultimately this is a movie with a quite interesting premise but the acting is awful from all but maybe two and criminally its quite boring. The clown make up was great though.

After a failed attempt at suicide because her boyfriend dumps her a girl decides to take her mind off her mothers over baring worry by sneaking out with her friends and going to get drunk at an abandoned factory. They decide to play a game of knucklebones a local urban legend and they end up summoning a demon.

This is super low budget and the acting is pretty bad (failed Hollyoaks audition bad) but I felt it added to its charm. My favourite thing was the practical gore fx, which include an axe splitting a guys head in two, a girl giving birth to the demon and another woman being cut in half from groin to neck.

There is a pretty good twist and the demon himself is a wisecracking asshole which I found funny. Good fun if you look past the hit and miss acting and low budget.
