Some off the record spoilers

Spoiler:

Lisa is sectioned over Christmas
Phil chases Keanu to the airport but with the help of Karen Keanu manages to flee
Louise is given Mel’s villa by Sharon

Denver 07-12-2019 05:09 PM

Simon Ashdown has written the New Years Eve episodes so you know they will be fantastic

Denver 07-12-2019 05:11 PM

There is a rumour going around that

Spoiler:

Ian will run Louise over similar to Tiffany's death.

If this rumour is true I guess it means she is being killed off

Judging by the spoilers...

Spoiler:

It's far more likely Linda knocks Louise over. Which also explains her absence from the location shoot of Keanu's exit.

Whether she'll be killed, I highly doubt it. Especially given the extremely low number of female Mitchell's left. Lola and Sam just won't cut it.

I actually reckon Oates/Sen have axed her and intend to recast her within a year to shape the character how they want. Much like they have with Ben.

Thank GOD they haven't dragged this Leo stuff out too long.

I was nervous it was gonna be a Christmas 2020 job.

I'm EastEnders being ranked #42 on Tumblr for fandoms

Marsh. 17-12-2019 07:15 PM

I wonder when Steve McFadden will realise Keanu's name is NOT pronounced Keano!

God I haven't watched this in ages. Has it improved since last year?

Phil and Sharon (aged 104 and 70 respectively) are still having affairs and pregnancies. Make up your own mind. :hee:

EastEnders has been dead since 2012 but it’s been watchable this year for the first time since then.

*2010

Although it's been watchable I'd say Autumn 2013 to Christmas 2014 was more watchable.

Peter Beale has been recast

2011 and even 2012 had more going for it in terms of public relevance than it’s had since and I’d take the worst of those years over anything from 2013 to 2028 any day of the week.

2014 was obviously fine but the show was well and truly on the wane by that point in terms of popularity. I don’t think it’s ever recovered in the public eye from the love and warmth era of snakes and cold cuts.

I think DTC did well to raise its public profile to 2010 standards by the time of the live episode in 2015.

It was the piss poor remainder of the year that saw it drop again.

So they recanted him to make him more of a hunky ladies man then recast him back into a scrawny geeky looking character

Marsh. 19-12-2019 12:19 PM

Queen Oates making the characters normal again.

Peter should never have been a hunk.

This is good casting cause he looks like Bobby.

I totally agree and Thomas Law should never have been axed

He wasn't. He quit in 2010 was offered a return in 2013 but declined so they recast.

Where do I start?!

Favourite story: I’ve lowkey been here for the Mitchells story all year with the addition of Mel and Lisa. Tazmin is a great actress and will be missed, I’m perched for the reveal. Lisa finding out about the baby was good but telling the whole square was a bit much, she should of just stuck to calling Sharon a murderer - that alone makes her look crazy enough. Phil visiting Lisa in the mental hospital and Lisa revealing the secret to Phil alone would of been a better idea. Overall good story and it hasn’t turned “silly” ... yet.. I repeat.. yet!!

Least favourite: Linda’s alcoholism seems to have come from nowhere, even if it does it’s so not needed right now. Why can’t Mick and Linda have a good Christmas? Let’s not forget they went through hell LAST Christmas and it would of been nice to see them have a chilled one and do something special with Ollie/or have a random Nancy/Johnny visit. I also HOWLED at the scene of Linda looking in the mirror trying to be psycho   sis

Haven’t agreed with certain decisions made but overall I’m still enjoying the show and it’s definitely better than 2018.

Christmas trailer didn’t reveal much but hope we’re in for a surprise and I’m intrigued to see who will take centre stage for new years asthey’ve been hit and miss recently. Oh and hi xx

So, tonight we have yet another character in yet another retread of their own biggest plot, I don't think Kate Oates tenure is shaping up to be particularly strong. I feel like she YouTubes EE characters, sees clips of their biggest moments and the result is Mel's car crash death (Steve's exit), Whitney's stalker (Pedo Tony), Martin's hit and run (Jamie's death), Sharongate 2.0 etc etc. Still waiting for them to do something original. Hopefully, we'll see a bit with the Panesars.
